Sev09] texted our group chat the other day and was like "damn [kingbob's] band is actually really good." And I was like lol I already knew that.
Thanks, baws. One of my bands (the 70’s hard rock style one) is actually playing at Chelsea’s Live in Baton Rouge tomorrow night, btw. Hijack over

He’s a reformer who focuses on important issues like taxes, interest rates, pension solvency, and state constitutional reform.
FIFY
In other words, he wants to make changes for the better but the typical voter in LA can't be bothered with that. They would rather just bitch about it and do nothing. It's the LA way.

Yep, that’s one of Louisiana’s biggest problems. The only issues that are moving the needle with voters right now is tranny stuff and abortion. Home insurance costs is a distant third, and only among folks south of I-10. People simply don’t care about economics. As soon as a candidate starts talking numbers, their eyes glaze over.
Louisiana wants a cartoon character, not a reformer. They will continue electing cartoon candidates and wonder why they have to boil their water and no one’s successful grandkids seem to live here anymore.

Schroder or Wags. There’s a reason they weren’t with Landry already.
Posted on 9/20/23 at 1:46 pm to Old0331
Wags was Jindal’s Chief of Staff. I won’t vote for Wags in the primary for that reason. Every single one of Jindal’s reforms (stelly tax, higher ed reform, ethics reform, gutting charity hospital system) turned out to be a sham or a disaster. The few that were a step in the right direction were rolled out completely incompetently (school choice).
Probably the only great program that I can attribute to Jindal was CPRA, which I give Graves credit for rather than Bobby.
Schroeder simply hasn’t distinguished himself enough from Landry, imo. Schroeder seems, at least, like he might be a little more intelligent and principled than Landry, though.

Richard Nelson Endorses Landry
Tells me all I need to know about him for the next election he runs in. Landry is a loser who didn’t have the balls to compete against JBE 4 years ago.

I listened to Schroeder speak a few times and he just comes across as pissed off about how things in LA are done. Doesn't appear to be apart of the "club" and has a hard time articulating exactly what he wants to accomplish.

I remember campaigning door to door and hearing answers like “I don’t want Louisiana to grow.”
Wait, what?
You ran for office? Which office and when?!

This is extra sweet because the handful of Richard Nelson buttboys we had on here were some of most elitist anti-Landry fart sniffers on the board.
Hilarious sentence. Well done

Not for my own campaign!
I volunteer in my free time.

The majority of voters in our state are single (inconsequential) issue voters, with a laundry list of "absolute" dealbreakers they will conveniently and ignorantly ignore or cite for the sake of: 1) choosing the winning team/destroying the rival, and/or 2) that inconsequential issue.
Rinse
Repeat

Ballots are already printed & machines programmed so Nelson will still appear on the ballot. He’s getting my vote still.

Well of course he endorses Landry. He's an attorney.
We also have low IQ voters that don't understand that a law degree doesn't mean someone is an attorney.

None. Well, at least the full note (click the link) says he "plans to pursue opportunities in the private sector."
Well he can't exactly advertise quid pro quo in the release now can he.

That doesn't rule out the LABI job.
Nelson has been very anti-incentive. I can't imagine LABI being a landing spot for him. If it is, he is a massive sellout and fraud.

You mean the guy who's first act as a state legislator was to co-sponsor a bill to give the legislature a raise?

I can assure you this is not the case. I’d say he is dumber than a box of hammers, but that would be insulting to the hammers.

Probably a lot more than they let us know about

My initial reaction to this news was *vomit*
He didn’t have a path to a victory at this point and I could understand dropping out and trying to unite behind another Republican.
But Landry? *vomit*
I can kind of see maybe if he gets a position in the Landry admin, he can try to implement sone ideas. But that would require an intelligence and commitment to state issues from Landry that I have yet to see.
