I saw him at an event ten years ago. He was very social, and speaking with everyone coming his way. I was speaking with a friend when he walked over and engaged us. No funny stories there, just meeting one another. As we were talking, a group of about three 55ish year old ladies walked in. They caught his eye, and he said “excuse me, I’ll be right back,” and over he walked to the ladies to schmooze and hit on. The guy was 80 at the time, so still chasing tail pretty well.

I knew his ex-wife when we were both kids.

A second hand story: he crudely hit on my aunt at a restaurant once.

The storm cell that resulted in Bo Rein’s plane crash was very close to being an even more infamous day

They had a poker game that was played up there. Many officials and judges took part

THIS^

A political consultant friend of mine laid out how this all worked years ago. Weekly/daily poker games with the gov (or others). High stakes & pot got big. Everybody but Gov folded regardless of hand and Gov won.
Not illegal to be a “bad” poker player and fold/lose with Royal flush. As long as winner pays income tax on the winnings, what’s illegal?

The storm was the reason the plane had to change its path

Supposedly the Dularge overpass in Houma was originally designed to go over the Houma Navigational Canal too. Edwards bought the land where the overpass comes down and had the bridge redesigned to not go over the Houma Navigational Canal and instead on a tract of land that he owned.

That's all Hearsay and I have not clue if it's true or not.

My uncle was born with severe disabilities in the early 70s and my grandparents needed to get him into a certain hospital, I believe in Pineville but they had no beds available. My grandfather went to Edwards office and basically waited outside for him to leave and told him his situation. Edwards told him he would see what he could do.

A few days later, his secretary called my grandparents and told them to bring their son to Pineville and they had a bed for him.

Yeah years ago a big cigarette boat pulls up to the "Fuel Dock" that is next to Middendorf's on south pass in Manchac. A couple of big guys get out of the boat and tie it up with the intention of leaving it there while they all go to Middendorfs. The owner comes out and tells them they can't tie up there. One of the guys tells him do you know who that is on the boat ( Turns out to be EWE ) Owner tells him I don't give a shite if it the President, I have a business to run and you are not blocking the pumps and my business. They moved the boat.
