I've always thought that biologically speaking, there is no such thing as race, at least in an accurately defining sense. If two individuals can reproduce and produce fertile offspring, they are the same species. Any differences after that are matters of speculation. For instance, how is the term 'black' defined in the article linked in the OP? If I remember, there were and probably still are different definitions in our own history. Mostly to suit the purposes of the person doing the defining.
