I’m in need of new ductwork in one section of my house, about 1700 sq ft. No telling how old my current ducts are, but they’re in bad shape and need to replaced.

It’s a total of 8 floor vents these ducts go to. On top of that crawl space is pretty damn tight, so the job will suck no doubt.

I have a good Hvac guy who I’ve used lots of times. He gave me a quote of 5k to remove and replace all the ductwork. I told him I was hoping he’d be closing to 3k. He said he might be able to get close to that if I’d be ok with it be a 3-4 day job as opposed to him hiring more help and knocking it out in 1 day w/ additional hired help.

My question, does that price sound reasonable? I’ve never had to replace ductwork before. TIA
