Know lots of fellas that couldn’t afford dental care in the US and went down to Mexico and got treatment for half the cost. None of them could stop talking about all the fine, fresh Latino pussy they came across.

Ultimately, the treatment is cheaper but the quality is lower with any type of healthcare when you’re getting it in a third-world country.

Find an honest dentist.

One of my qualifiers was I wouldn't go to dentists that accepted Medicaid/Medicare. That worked out well (ETA: I'm not being ironic.)

I met my current dentist though our ex-wives, and he and his associate dentists are as honest as they come.

Treat it like a car dealership, just walk out. Then don't go back to your original dude, for anything.

Many American-educated dentists in Mexico. All cash. When we lived on the border we would do all dental work across the river. Michigan grad.

I had an emergency root canal in London and if you have ever seen British teeth you know that I survived dental work in a third work country

If you can get to a Dental School, they most likely have a program where a dental school student will do the work on you, under the supervision of a real dentist, for a lot less than you would pay someone who actually is a dentist.

I understand the dental school at the university dental school in Jackson has the program, but I don't know if they do caps. I also do not know anyone who has had any work done by them. I just know they do it and that they claim the charge for practice dental work by a student is very cheap.

The one time I stopped in El Paso fir a night, the concierge at the hotel told me about this random dental office in Juarez. He also gave me a brochure.

I got three wisdom teeth removed in South Korea in the 70’s (but it was by a Japanese-American dentist on a US base).
Good thing because back then the native “dentists” were wearing flip-flops and dirty shorts.

San Jose , Costa Rica is your spot. $400 airfare, Sabana Park hotel $100 a night. I stayed there when I had my buttock implants done.

Ex mother-in-law had grade A insurance because my ex FIL was a PGA-level golf exec. It was still cheaper for her to fly to Texas and my ex would drive her down south of the border for dental work. They'd stay on the US side overnight and drive back and forth over the border. It was at least 5 or 6 trips down to Mexico for all the implant work. She was happy and nothing shady happened. This was 2015-2016ish, so the border was probably not in the same shape it is now. We were together for a few more years before the divorce, and I don't remember her mom having any issues. Airfare, hotels, gas, meals, all that on top of the dental work was still thousands cheaper than going through their insurance.

I've used the LSU dental school in the past, very cheap. I wish the student had stayed local h was very skilled.

The quality of the lab that makes your crown is a big part of this equation.

I have had several crowns redone in Costa Rico now.
Was on vacation and 2 USA dentist crowns failed, got replaced there at 1/4 the cost here with insurance (2 for $550 total). Just as modern of equipment and procedures. Oh yea the actual dentist does all the work not a dental tech.
So yea, I stop being a slave to the US medical and dental complex.

Yes, in Iraq. It was an Army dentist, so pretty much the same difference.
