Golf is a funny thing. I usually get in my head when I’m playing well. Was pacing to break 80 today (+4 through 13) for the first time ever.

I will blame being tired, but all day I was relaxed. And on hole 14 I thought I was relaxed, but realized a few holes later that each time I was over the ball I was REALLY thinking about my swing mechanics. Like thinking about every part of it, and it got to me. Finished the last holes bogey, bogey, double, bogey, double. Ughhhhh.

I thought when I was in position to break 80 I would be trying to keep calm from excitement. But it was the sneaky swing thoughts that got me.

Maybe next time!

Yeah I have learned the hard way not to try to swing perfect. I know how to mimic more technically sound golf swings but for some reason it feels weird and makes me uncomfortable, so if I try to focus on one thing and let autopilot take over I’m more successful. I have no idea why.
