What curse? 7 out of 8 guys that have worn it are currently playing in the NFL
The last 5 guys to wear it have had their worst COLLEGE season ever. This is about college football not the NFL.

Please can we just do away the #7 thing for the love of god
If it really means something to the players, then keep it. Ultimately, that's all that matters.
But the 7 "tradition" is a manufactured "tradition" built on the back of the previously manufactured 18 "tradition". One that literally started as nothing more than an inside joke among friends. It had no, none, ZERO, program significance until LSU marketing decided to fabricate one.
LSU has a lot of great, longstanding traditions. IMO, the 18 "tradition" might be the silliest

1. Grant Delpit - 2019(#7) season was better than his freshman season. Won Thorpe.
2. JaCoby Stevens - 2020 lead team in total tackles Down from previous year but played 5 less games. Played under Bo Polini so if you want to hold that against him, so be it.
3. Derek Stingley Jr - 2021 Underwent Lisfranc surgery on September 26. Week 3 of 2021 marked his final college appearance. Only played in 3 games. Injured while wearing 24. Same foot injured 3 times over 2 years.
4. Kayshon Boutte - 2022 Boutte sustained a season-ending right ankle fracture vs. Kentucky in October 2021. He subsequently had 2 different surgeries on the same ankle. KB's issues were mental imo but some injuries take longer to get back to 100% than just being able to play.
5. 2018 doesn't count. Giles was pushed because O wanted everyone to think the offense was fixed and we were spreading the ball. Giles was on a roster with Chase and Jets. Giles was re-numbered to 12.
5. 2017 DJ Chark - Best season of his career. Who else besides Guice should have worn in?
Stop making BS grans statements aren't entirely true. These traditions aren't for you if you don't like them. Get over it.

To me it seems fairly obvious that 7 is going to Nabors and 18 is going to either Major Burns or Josh Williams.

Sounds like you are manufacturing drama.
Acting like 18 was a joke among friends is a weird assertion to make, especially when the players obviously value the 18 tradition.

I don't understand the hatred towards the 7 and 18 traditions. I personally love them and I know the players do too. Give me one honest, good reason why they should stop doing it?
"Look at the past 7's and how they sucked" is NOT an acceptable answer

Talk to the Godfather of the "tradition", Jacob Hester. He'll tell you it started as a joke.
Mauk left after 2003 and the equipment manager assigned the number to Hester. They joked that 18 needed to go to an "unathletic white guy"...which was really just Hester being self-deprecating. After Hester left, he passed it on to another "unathletic white guy", his good buddy, Richard Dickson, furthering the "tradition" that was nothing more than an inside joke among friends. It was at that point LSU marketing latched on a created a flowery backstory for a tradition that otherwise didn't exist.

Which is why I said that if it means something to the players then they should keep it. It's just amusing that such a "sacrosanct" tradition was wholly fabricated out of something with no greater meaning other than a joke among a few friends.

So if this is wrong in any way, will you agree to never post again?

Perkins is the one guy that would restore the prestige of #7 back to what it used to be.

I prefer the "Joe Burrow" approach. Keep the number you have and make IT legendary.

Establishing credibility ? On TD? Ha!
