BASF?
Their audio tape sucked. When they morphed into AGFA (or the other way around) their open reel tape kicked arse because, well they were AGFA.
Their DAT tapes were good.
Their videotape and computer media was okay.

Never used any any of their other stuff.

BASF is full of chemicals that will kill you.
They don’t do a very good job of keeping it in the pipes.
The people there are pretty easy to get along with for a plant.

It was 25 years ago, but I compare it against the plant where we produce Anhydrous HF, and you needed to wash your truck when you left, and couldn't leave the HQ building due to chlorine sinking on the building...

DCS engineer - pay 120 to 180 depending on experience and what level the position is looking for. Vacation most likely 4 weeks or possibly 5 if greater than 20 years experience
What else do you want to know?

You’re better off to just hire on with one of the big boy contractors

It's not this. It's a DCS panel board operator. It is a union job. I've been a DCS panel board operator for 7 years. I understand the pay and value I have especially in a non union setting. My hope was that maybe someone in here either worked at BASF or knew someone that did that had specific information about the position at BASF.

Never worked a plant, just office job in upstream O&G and now downstream/chemical office, owner of one of those plants. That 120 to 180, do they pay people in plant that plus short term bonus of like 15% of salary, plus long term bonus of 20% of salary in equity/shares, plus 6% match on 401k, and health insurance like the office jobs do? Or is it just 120 to 180 and health insurance and no STI/LTI, 401k match.

Its an A or A+ operator job? You may eventually qualify on a board, but if you have dreams of sitting in the a/c with a clean shirt and hey dudes on all day- be prepared to put in some years first. If you have a halfway decent work ethic, its a good gig.

So you know nothing about the place, but you think you’re going straight to the console in a union plant? You sound like you’re going to make a hell of an operator

I’d say the average right now is 10-20% yearly bonus, very good medical. 5-10% match on 401k, and a lot of places still offer some type of pension (usually cash balance). This is for an engineer level position. Once you start moving into supervision > superintendent > UM the bonus goes through the roof, but the salary doesn’t increase as much as you’d expect.

I've been a panel board operator for 7 years in a union plant and the job description I applied for is for the DCS panel board position. I know how this works.

Regarding your recent application to BASF for Board/DCS Operator 2301178, you are receiving this email to alert you that the next step in the process is for you to complete an initial online assessment.

Father retired from there years ago.
He worked at various sites for the company in engineering.

They use to have a company store onsite at one site and he bought floppy disc for cheap and cassette tapes. Now I had some awesome games to download on my Atari computer.
