I like the Brock Laird kid from Natchitoches. He's a ways down in the 2025 rankings that committed to SELU. He has a really nice swing.

If you are in LC area and looking for some very high level HS baseball the Mike Willis tournament is next weekend. Some of the top teams from Texas and Louisiana will be in it.

Baseball America put out their first draft list for 2025 today (100 players). LSU only had one current player on the list, Chase Shores at 11. It makes sense when you consider most of our other best sophomores are draft eligible this year. I think Brady Neal will vault up that list sooner rather than later. Aiden Moffett and Jaden Noot are other guys I can see being on the list later this year.

On the recruit front, Brady Ebel and De an Moss were in the top ten. Marcos Paz at 14. Quentin Young at 34. Vaughn Neckar and Omar Serna in the last third of the list.

It also created a little bit of what will be a transfer portal shopping list for teams this offseason.

UNC Wilmington, Nicholls, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Old Dominion, and UT-Arlington all with players on the list.

Jacob Mayers from Nicholls had a lot of rumors last offseason of looking for an SEC home. Evan Chrest from Jacksonville is a guy that was drafted out of high school and a guy we may have connections to. Ryan Black from UT Arlington is a guy we looked at out of high school.

Curious to see how it plays out with Mayers. He threw 4IP and had 0 hits, 7K/3BB in his first start at Nicholls this past weekend against Sacred Heart.

Will be a tough go for him to come here and try to start with the pitching that LSU will have with Chase Shores, Cam Johnson, Jaden Noot, and Kade Anderson. Plus all the other guys. Makes you wonder if he would maybe look elsewhere in the SEC to find a landing spot without as much competition to start on the weekend. Not saying he couldn't come in and take a spot but with the depth it is something I think he would consider in his decision.

No one wants to see Nicholls as a 4 seed in their regional

Had his coach taken the pitching coach job at MSU that's likely where he would have gone.

As long as his coach stays at Nicholls I don't see him leaving for his last season because MLB will still think highly of him.

Conner Ware hasn't pitched for Pearl River since his first outing a few weeks ago. Not sure what's going on there.

Blaise Priester and Tanner Reaves are both hitting pretty well. Apparently Reaves is splitting time between 2B and SS this season.

Schmidt might be the best LA HS pitching prospect in a number of decades

that’s a lot of hype and he may be. Beau Jones from Destrahan is still the best HS pitcher I’ve seen personally.

Beau Jones was nice, I saw him live twice plus other stud LHPs, but they weren’t this. Granted kids are throwing harder now.

He had some hiccups last season. Granted, and I've said this before, he looks different this year. Like, alot different. His body moves different. The ball moves different. He also seems to be in a different headspace. Maturation. We'll see if it keeps playing out the way it has so far, but I'm still not completely sold on him bypassing college. A hiccup here and/or there, an opportunity to play for and develop more with Jay/staff/facilities, the allure/love for LSU, and NIL all play.

Fun to follow.

Jordan griffin started last night for first 2 varsity games after getting ruled eligible Wednesday. Looked like best player in the field against live oak and looked awesome against Flower Mound also

Still boggles my mind in baseball we have 6 commits from freshmen in high school and a kid like Griffin we took a commitment from in the 8th grade when he was like what 5'5 140 or something

yea crazy, really glad they changed the rule. griffin still isnt tall but dude is pure muscle and so damn strong, so explosive and so fast. its crazy how he looks even when on the field with a bunch of SEC commits that have 3-4 years on him.

Luke Hill seems to be making as many friends in Oxford as he did at Arizona State. Looks like Willie Bloomquist may not have been wrong.

Bunch of screenshots on twitter of him complaining about Ole Miss, wanting to leave, not getting paid as promised.

He’s just so advanced for his age, esp as a true to age freshmen.

You appreciate that when you see the Soph kid pitching for west Monroe yesterday is a 17y 3mo sophomore. That’s crazy

man im all for holding back but thats getting a little much....well i say that...i guess that would have him turning 19 in december of his senior year which isnt too bad i guess.

i like hold back but mainly to make sure they are atleast 18 when graduating and am good with them turning 19 right before graduation but man i do see why some are getting annoyed, got kids turning 19 start of senior year which is prolly a little much.
