It’s interesting that the same people who freak out about Covid insist that people should live crammed together in cities

I got Covid a few weeks ago. I was fine then woke up on a Sunday with a horrible sore throat and fever/chills. Thought I had strep and had a big week at work so went to doc thinking antibiotics will have me right in a day.

They swab me for all of it and she walks in to say uhhh it’s Covid. I had travelled to Dallas a few days before so probably picked it up there or in airport.

It kicked my butt this time compared to others but I’m also 8.5 months pregnant so technically immunocompromised. Felt better after a week but started feeling crappy again yesterday. Annoying.

up from what?
cases last month or the last.

What was hard to understand?

Are we so political that one can’t quote a simple statistic?

mean heat related deaths are up in la. too. Up from January.
yes, we are.

Funny, the wedding in Connecticut I was at a week ago got a few of my family members COVID. I walked away unscathed. I hadn't heard anyone having positive COVID in months. So I guess this tracks a little bit. Otherwise, NBD except ruining my cousin's honeymoon.

I can’t wait to continue not getting the vaccine and also continue not getting sick.

55% above what? 1 case, 10 cases, 1000 cases? Need a little context instead of screaming that we are all going to die.

Working back the math on this:

quote:

And hospital admissions for the disease increased by 22% compared to the previous week, which translates to more than 100 admissions a day.

Would indicate that hospitalizations are up ~17 per day across the entire state of NY.

Pretty sure I just had it and gave it to all of my family. Knocks you on your arse for a day or two with about 101 degree fever that won’t go away. We survived

I got it two weeks ago too. If it weren't for the fatigue and losing my taste I wouldn't have known I even had it. It was gone in 3 days.

What dumbasses are actually going in to get tested with the sniffles. You can literally take 100 test kits and randomly take them one after another and get different results.

the only reason she even tested was because her mom brought over a test that was expiring or something so she took the test and it came out positive.

I’m not testing ever again voluntarily. If I have to be admitted I’ll get tested, but I’m never getting tested at a ready med or doing an at home test.
