Motto for the season: win ugly.

Nunez and Diaz are game changers, especially against a team pressing. Jota and Gakpo should be coming off the bench. Though I think the starters today were partially chosen due to Europa starting this week.

Tale of two halves

We subbed on a winger for our #6 and overwhelmed them sending players forward. We are a really deep team but we have gotta get healthier in the back.

Agreed, Nunez & Diaz create more chances and play at a faster pace.

Not sure why klopp had both on the bench.

McAllister didn’t have his best go yesterday either. Potential opening for Gravenburch(spellcheck)

Nunez, Diaz, and Mac Allister had literally just returned from international duty in South America via trans-Atlantic and trans-hemispheric flights the night before the match.

Yeah, I dont think Mac Allister would have started if Klopp thought either Gravenberch or Endo (not sure why - not sure how far he travelled) were up for it... I know Klopp doesn't like to throw players in right away... and those 2 didnt have the pre-season..

Mac just looked off it from the start..

I just hate to think he's going to be wasted as a #6 for the foreseeable future..

I really hope we scrap this inverted RB formation for now... we dont have a DM (maybe Endo can come good) or the defense to pull it off right now... I dont just think it was the subs, but also the formation change that made the difference yesterday...

Yeah, personnel were not right to play it yesterday. I’d have rathered Robbo play that role instead of Gomez. Gomez has 0 attacking prowess. Absolute liability pushing him that far up the pitch. Also need a true 6 to be able to cover, Mac is not it. Szobo would play the 6 better but he’s too good going forward to keep back.

We have 7-8 matches in December and two in January
Something needs to balance out.
Maybe they will add knockout Euro league in January?

Klopp’s comments today make me believe we are going to waste our legs in Europe. Guess we’ll find out the truth tomorrow with his starting 11.

Is tomorrow the only time they’re wearing the purple kits?

It will probably be one of the few times they wear it. Per This is Anfield, “Liverpool only wore their green third kit for four first-team games last season – against Ajax, Aston Villa, Brentford and Southampton – with the home kit used more often on the road.”

Our depth just takes over in these type games. It really shows. I learned today that Bacjetic is not our answer for a backup RB. He also may be our best option at the #6 role which is also concerning.

Wasn’t able to watch live but kept up via social media. Can anybody that watch vouch for these purple kits. I gotta say, they aren’t my favorite based on pictures I’ve seen.
