Story is coaches aren’t happy with his link up play. I’m ready for him have a run of play with this midfield

I agree that Trent needs a shift off but who do we put there ? We’re a Matip knock away from starting Gomez and Quansah in the middle of our defense.

I would have loved to be at St James Park when Darwin hit that 2nd. The Barcode fans must have been stunned.

this is what being so financially tight in the past couple of windows gets you.... we have no dependable depth... great starters, but we are fricked if any of them go down for any amount of time...

and shite, with the way Man City puts up points, 1 game of dropping points that you otherwise would have gained could be huge

Fab is saying Al Ittihad want Gomez. This is our chance......sell Gomez to SA and bring in a top class defender.

Makes too much sense so it's not gonna happen

They probably won’t offer much, not like he’s a big name. I think he holds more value to us as a home grown bench player. He actually put in a good shift against Newcastle.

Whatever he would fetch would be a bonus. I've never rated Gomez and his homegrown status can be replaced by anyone under 21 (not worried about EL but CL hopefully next year).

We can’t let anyone go at this stage. We will be lucky to get anyone this week the way we do business sans the Ox deal.

They’ve shown their hand. We’ll get more $ than that this offseason.

So how does that work with the sudden influx of cash? Can they spend it however or are there stipulations on how it must be spent?

The Saudi league plays in the Asian Champions League. I'm 99% positive there is no FIFA Fair Play so they can spend as much as they want. The Saudi league does have a foreign limit but I think it's pretty high (7-9 foreigners).

Saudi reportedly want Konate now.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Saudis do after the Prem window closes. The Saudi window doesn't close until September 21st. It's going to be a long 3 weeks.

Just my opinion but we sell salah next July. Get whatever it is we can for for him - say 75million and then get a replacement. He gets to have his big payday too. There really isn’t a replacement but maybe a guy who has a chance to become that good with a year or two under Klopp.

They want everyone but the fact remains that no one in their prime wants to play there. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this is Saudi retribution for Newcastle’s loss. They’ll try to unsettle our players for the next 3 weeks. Just hot air.
