Chase can terminate for virtually any reason they want and further conceal the specifics while giving a general reasoning. So any words you managed to string together after “because” is a waste of everyone’s time.

Should be illegal unless the customer defaults or overdraws.

If they catch you doing manufactured spending on credit cards they will absolutely close every account you have with them.

OP is probably the subject of an AML investigation. The bank is not going to tell him that if that's the case. In fact, it's a felony for bank employees to disclose that information.

Why should they have to keep you as a client?

AML is short for Anti-Money Laundering. Every financial institution has an AML department (some call it a BSA department, short for Bank Secrecy Act) and that is something that they have to take very, very seriously because they get fined heavily if they don't.

It's a felony for bank employees to tell customers about this because law enforcement does not want people who may be committing financial crimes to be tipped off that they're being investigated.

went down a rabbit hole of banking one time on Wikipedia. Pretty interesting. It was as fricked up 200years ago as it is today. I started with the Manhattan company and went from there.

When cash app was having trouble I decided to dive into them and see what bank is backing them.

Found it was a bank that was started by the guy who was involved in the savings and loan scandals. And the best part is the democrat senators and John McCain that took money from him, all continued in in government.

And this was late 80s early 90s

Are they completely independent of the Fed, fed taxpayer money (current of debt payments), or fed oversight as far as previously approved mergers and/or acquisitions of competitors?

If they are not then politics should never be a reason to cancel or ban someone.

Companies allowed to buy up competitors and limit competition including big tech should have those approvals reversed for cancelling people based on politics once they dominate the market. We aren’t really talking a true competitive market.

I don't think it's racist to ask for a customer service agent who's proficient in English.

It shouldn’t be. We have been “pressing 2” for Spanish for almost 2 decades now. And when they get a Spanish speaker it isn’t someone who speaks broken Spanish and the person can barely understand them.

Hancock Whitney is the way to go if you value customer service. Some of the lower level employees are still common nimrods but your overall experience will be much better.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!
I attempted to transfer about 10 grand from a conventional IRA with Whitney to a gold IRA with someone else.

Placed the transfer order on June 6th and transfer was finally made on August 18th.

Excuses were:

Fax machine has been broken for months

Someone was on vacation

The receiving institution faxed the documents in landscape mode

Not Chase related but i agree to go local/credit unions. Ive been with a small community bank for 25 years and they are great. Any issues etc they handle and can talk to the people making decisions.

I have a small business checking acct witn Cap one. They have in 2 occasions denied me from making a withdrawal from my account in the branch for not having a valid Drivers license. Will not accept LA wallet, will not accept a concealed carry permit, will not accept a twic card. Called and yelled at everyone and anyone on how ridiculous that is as i was sure the teller was just mistaken and couldn't think rationally. why is it i have to have my actual hard license to present? Their excuse was to “identify who you are”. Im like so a government issued ID isnt enough? Nope. Has to be a drivers license as chase does not recognize other forms of ID.

It’s not and especially dealing with your finances. It’s not just pronunciation but some times using words or phrases wrong or just different than used in the US. I have to look up words and phrases watching British shows, and definitely have the captions on.

It's really shitty to hire non-native speakers as customer service reps. I mean, verbal communication is the single most important skill for such a job, and it boggles my mind that anyone would sacrifice that for a few dollars.

This is worse based on being a banking industry. I am not walking up to buy a slushee or Big Mac (and even then there can be visual aids available to use or reading facial expressions). We are talking about someone’s money. As the customer it is frustrating as heck to deal with someone who can’t communicate well over the phone already and never feeling like you are own the same page, but when it’s about your finances that stress and frustration are exponentially increased.

You don't think their bank account being canceled isn't going to tip them off?

Exactly. And there are people here who are going beyond just saying half-assing customer service in this manner is OK. They're saying it's racist to question it.

I don't have much to contribute on this topic, other that to say that I probably got banned from using the Walgreens Pharmacy yesterday. Good enough, that particular location and the group of people working there have proven beyond useless many times over. Hopefully, they do me a favor and ban me for life.

When are people going to wise up and realize that big corporations don’t give a crap about normal, everyday working customers? Bank with a small regional bank where you can walk in and actually get help with these kind of issues.
