You got to understand. First off he tore his ACL in his second year and miss basically a year of development in physical training and actual basketball action. Kira has only played 103 NBA games in 3 seasons. Second we just revamped our player development staff with Aaron Miles (point guard who has the all-time assists leader (with 954 career assists) of both Kansas and the Big 12 Conference) and our new offensive coach James Borrego, choices either Green set out to make or the FO because our current staff must not be up to par including the training staff as well. Not only that he's still young and his main issue seems to be IQ and strength which can be solved with an offseason of work with actual legit trainers which he's actually attempting to do right now. Things he would have worked on into the offseason last year that he couldn't because he was mainly trying to get back on the court. Remember Jaylen Brown started off with no handle and now he's become a self creator. Players can still improve by working on their game.

Imagine if we drafted Jordan Hawkins but didn't hire James Borrego. He would struggle mightily in his first year and maybe in his second because Green is not an X&Os coach meaning Jordan wouldn't be utilized correctly or at all for his main skills. Same with Kira we basically have only one play drawn for him and I don't think we even run heavy pick n rolls with him when he's on the court. Once his strength improves it'll be alot easier for him because he'll get more lift on his layups and wont blow them so much. Also I don't think he gets enough touches too or chances in game to create on ball or run plays so are they even letting him do that in practice?? That's why I say with Borrego maybe he can better utilized Kira as well. Valanciunas too.

Why do you think Devonte' Graham looked so good over there but trash over here??

The time I realized Kira might not be long in the league, was in his rookie year, he seemed to have a really dominant game and at the end of it, he only had 16 points and 4 assists.

Meanwhile in that same rookie class, Maxey was casually dropping 16 points in a half even though he was dealing with the same inconsistent playing time and role.

When Kira scores 8 points, it feels like a minor miracle. A guy like Maxey can score 8 points in 90 seconds, multiple times a game. And Maxey technically doesn’t have the top end speed Kira has. The main difference is that he just knows how to shift speeds, use his body (he does have a better body), and score from all 3 levels. Kira hasn’t even proven to be a 1 level scorer in the nba.

Kira is just a regular arse dude on this level. The injury was definitely unfortunate, but it was also readily apparent before his injury that he’d never be more than a somewhat limited role player.

The SL in 2021 was the nail in the coffin. We had a really solid squad and he played like absolute dog shite. The most concerning thing about his play was that he looked scared to dribble the ball past half court and actually initiate any offense despite being the highest pedigree player on our SL roster. Jose Alvarado randomly massively outperformed him in an extremely limited role. And that proved not to be a fluke later in the 2021-2022 season.
