notable for being cheap and shabby housing

Yes, it was the cheapest housing on campus. No air-conditioning, but they had just installed ceiling fans that summer. The curved halls made it like living on a ship. No stalls in the bathrooms, just toilets on one wall, shower heads, trough and sinks on the other walls. TP dispensed one sheet at a time. And man it was hot that September. Sometimes I would hear Mike growling in the middle of the night. It would make the hair on my neck stand up.

was 7 years old in 1987 and Florida came to Death Valley. At the time, I only knew a few players. Harvey Williams, Sammy Martin, Wendell Davis, and of course Tommy Hodson. I sure as hell didn’t know Florida’s freshman RB, Emmitt Smith, at the time. Despite a huge game by Emmitt, top ranked LSU beat ranked Fla 13-10. Fla missed a FG to tie in the closing seconds in the south endzone, just where we were seated. Tigers won and the obsession began. Geaux Tigers

Same year, but I was 18. Ohio St 13-13 game. My buddy got tickets from his uncle, Senator David Ginn. I didn’t know Ginn personally, but later had a conversation with him on this site after I figured out he was TupeloTiger. He has since passed away.

I was a Freshman at LSU in 1980. The first home game was a loss to Florida State. That was the only home loss that season. I grew up in Lafayette but we were very poor so I had n option to go to any games prior to being a student there. I had gone to plenty of USL games. Tiger Stadium was like being on another planet in comparison.

It was my first game as well.

yep = I was there in '56/'57 - 3rd floor close to where the elevator for the press box is located now.
All I could afford but was just happy to be there.

That is still my second most remembered game - the '59 Halloween game is still the highest level for me.

First home game of the season 1970 LSU versus Texas A&M. A and M pulls it out in the last 13 seconds 20 to 18. Heartbreaking but the crowd was great!

If my memory serves me right, Pete Carroll was on that Pacific team.

Attended my first game in utero (along with my twin brother) to experience Cannon's punt return against Ole Miss on Halloween 1959. This is when my migraine headaches first started due to the tumultuous acoustic environment within the womb. Worth it though,Baw!

2nd game at Tiger Stadium:
Oct. 14 1967
L 15-17 against Miami
Half time: show some gal sang "Don't Sleep in the Subway Darling". I think it was Nancy Sinatra but I am not sure.

1997 lost to Notre Dame 24-6 and it was a COLD windy day. I believe NBC broadcasted the game. Sitting in the Irish section. My grandpa is a ND alum. He gave me and my dad tickets. Their fans were nice. And they kept joking that it wasn’t cold weather. But it damn sure was.

Bert Jones Sr season. 1970? Anyway, I think I was 12 & enjoyed LSU dismantling A$M 42-17. Even though we blew them out, I still hate A$M.

Battle for the Rag 20sumpin to nothing late 60s- believe it was that Cotton Bowl snub year.
Very first CFB game was also a LSU beatdown of Tulame the year before in the old Sugar Bowl, site of my first NFL game with Kilmer and Abramowicz beating the Steelers.
