First, get a friggin roommate. I had roommates until I got married.
2nd, don't spend 50k on a car. Get a reliable used car. It will also cut down on insurance and registration fees.
3rd - how does one person spend 2k on food?
My husband and I managed on $100k income with 3 kids. 2 of those kids were twins and needed expensive formula. Then they both needed speech therapy. Not to mention needing 2 of all the standard baby equipment. And we lived in Silicon Valley with a 300k mortgage.
