I have been involved in web and ai ( neural networks)… back when it was webcrawler.. mosaic.. and pretty much just linking universities and corporate research.. we were using neural net to mimick what geoscience interpreters were doing mentally and building artificial seismic and geologic interpretation models…this was back in the 90s.. never got it to work.. so when I heard people afraid of ai I thought ..goofballs….
Watched a breakdown of the father of AI explain his concerns..as humans we learn from questioning things and getting feedback from other humans.. we have to find them.. talk to them… and process the information..
With the web ALL computers are or can be linked and benefit from finding knowledge everywhere..from remote village in a jungle to major city.. so immediate knowledge available… you do not have to have a conversation and process the human language so immediate transfers of facts ( or data)… you have immediate processing if this into the model built for the AI to then cause some robotic thing to do something physical… and ability to rebuild the AI model from this to “learn”…
Better put do not kill humans in the models built…. but the North Korea will build one with out it..
We are on the verge of a new world imo.. like the Bronze Age etc.. this is a next step for humanity …..
I am 65 and have seen a lot technology and very pro tech.. this is going to be big.. fast and exponential..
Btw.. I do own so ai stock and picked it up a few years back.. so not against it.. just realistically see pros and cons like all new technologies.
