But it's only 20 minutes. There is a ceiling to fricking off at the office for the most part. At home, no supervision

20 minutes on the shitter, 10-15 in the break room at the coffee machine, 10-15 hanging out at another coworker's desk bullshitting, etc. And this happens multiple times per day.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who abuse working from home and spend half their day at the store and whatnot, but I personally have not noticed much of a change in how much work I get done in a given day.

Yeah this isn't really true either. If my mouse is idle for more than 10 minutes, my status changes to being away from the computer. I'm pretty sure this gets tracked and is brought up to people who's production and performance starts noticeably slipping.

Unless you're micromanaging all your employees, you have no idea how hard they're actually working at their desk. Service industry is different than office work of course.

Is there?

What kinda supervision are you guys talking about? I feel like the disconnect here is that some people are referring to low level workers working from home and other people are referring to professionals working from home. I've worked from home for 10+ years, but I have had jobs where I worked out of an office. There was zero supervision there, my office door was closed 90% of the day.

I took a 2.5 hour lunch yesterday. Went to the gym, the car wash, got a haircut, and picked up lunch, so sounds like you’re just not trying hard enough.

Because in-person workers definitely don't go hide out in the shitter for 20 minutes at a time
