Here is what the navy heard. Trust me they knew exactly what this was. AUDIO ONLY. Turn up your volume and wait. The initial implosion peaked the mic, the the echos continue faint, just like an echo in the mountains.

They knew exactly what happened and more important WHEN - LISTEN

I could be wrong but I don't believe we will ever see CF used in commercial plane fuselages.

787 fuselage is CF and that decision caused a lot of controversy at the time for exactly the same reasons. Failure modes, especially cyclic fatigue, not only differ from aluminum but are not as well understood. Inspection techniques differ also as you cannot inspect CF with standard ultrasonic technology.

Wow, was that a recording of the actual explosion? How far was the Navy mic from the Titanic?

Correction, "implosion". The method of gathering the sound is classified, (like most things).

honestly, i found their use of composite material (as opposed to the successful but outdated fifty year old technology of steel use) to be inspiring, right up to the last second.

So all the other visits to the wreck site were faked? If it isn't the Titanic wreck, what is it?

There is a very solid theory floating the "Titanic" ship that hit the ice berg was not originally named the 'Titanic". Speculation is that the Olympic, which was damaged in a 1911 collision with the HMS Hawke, a British warship, was sunk in place of the Titanic as part of an insurance fraud scheme to build an entirely new boat with the Titanic’s policy.

Also, there is the murderous claim that the Titanic was sunk to kill three powerful men opposed to the creation of the Federal Reserve — Benjamin Guggenheim, Isidor Straus and John Jacob Astor. Yep, those were some pretty powerful fellas.

Of course J. P. Morgan, who loved the Federal Reserve idea and funded the building of both boats, cancelled his trip aboard the "Titanic" at the very last minute.

Was it for the insurance or federal reserve? Please, do tell us, JP!!

Dude...Does your neck get sore from all the tinfoil on your head?

What about all the survivors who were on the Titanic, are they part of this conspiracy?

Not sure about that.

But it doesn't have to, physicists have weighted in and said at that pressure with those materials, a hull failure would take approximately 20 milliseconds.

A human blink takes approximately 100 milliseconds. In other words they didn't even have time to blink in reaction to the submarine imploding around them. It occurred so fast they didn't even know it happened.

Weird to think about, how you can essentially be deleted so quickly, it doesn't even register to you. Sorta like a character being backspaced off a word doc. You're there and then you're not.

There's this third insane option that probably shouldn't be part of the equation, but I'll just toss it out there.

It might have just struck an iceberg...

Crazy I know. Probably best we stick to faked or intentionally sunk.

Not really a yuge fan of the guy, but he does know what he's talking about regarding deep dive vehicles.

The loss of comms & tracking - at the same time was well stated. I didn't follow on any cable/network news but I'm betting there wasn't much if any time spent discussing that aspect. Then the acoustic evidence at the same time as loss of communication, I'm just stunned no media outlet ran with the actual story before Thursday.

This wasn't a mystery, we just didn't get the story... because reasons.

Why was carbon fiber necessary? It wasn't a high performance vehicle. . Is it cheaper?

He wanted to keep it as lightweight as possible so the surface support vessel would be cheaper to lease. Smaller crane, handling equipment, etc. I either heard him say that in an interview or read it, but it was his own words.

The tracker should have had an independent power source and an independent pressure vessel. You'd want it to survive independently, like an airplane black box.
