It’s funny the central and South American pyramids are widely believed to be ceremonial structures while around the other side of the world they are called tombs.

I’m not pushing the alien thing. Sure, some Jews likely were held as slaves. My point is that the whole exodus story is a myth.

Did the Egyptians build burial rooms in all of the pyramids investigated with massive granite sarcophagi just for shits and giggles? Also, human remains have been found in pyramids located in the western hemisphere.

You act like you’ve never laid in a sarcophagus during an initiation ceremony or two to open your third eye, dressed in all white.

You should get out more.

They decided to drag 1000 pound blocks of stone 500 miles...Thousands of them. Now ask yourself if that story seems reasonable, like why wouldn't they just use a bunch of smaller stones?
Could not even think about that today with all the Caterpillars and LinkBelts in the world at your disposal.

If you use smaller stones, you WILL worry that the next generation will take those stones and build their houses or canals or whatever with them.

Take a look at the coliseum in Rome. The part that's missing didn't fall down, it was taken, er quarried, to build buildings on the cheap.

There were two very advanced cities in what is now Pakistan. One still exists (sewers and all) the other was quarried within the past two hundred years because it was easier to take the stones from there than to quarry new stones.

I have to work with a lot of Egyptians and they are notorious for lying about any and everything. So naturally I'm skeptical the pyramids are even in Egypt.

I can attest the pyramids are in Egypt. I’m in Egypt and can currently see them from my balcony.

Well we have evidence they tried and failed once (Bent Pyramid) and they built them over decades, not a few years, so ya it is reasonable people built them.

The time between now and the reign of Cleopatra is less than the time between Cleopatra and the building of the great pyramids of Giza. They were ancient even in ancient times. That's a lot of time for looting and deterioration. Pretty simple.

How is that trip? I see mixed reviews, but since I've been to countries like India where you get hassled to buy things all the time, I feel like I could look past all that and enjoy all the ancient Egyptian stuff I've wanted to see since I was a kid.

We got to Cairo this afternoon and the city is “interesting”. Really expensive stuff and absolutely complete poverty right next to it. The Nile looks like the Mississippi River a bit. My wife was a little freaked out because she had never seen anything like that.

Our hotel is behind a gate and they have a bomb dog and search everything that comes through the gate. We have a police escort and a private security guard with our group carrying a MP5 sub machine gun under his jacket.

We went to St. Catherine’s in the Sinai and Sharm El Sheik the last few days. Last week was Israel. It was amazing.

I’m glad I’m doing this but likely wouldn’t do it again.

Ya, I expect it to be not great outside the ancient sites.

I did this at a Courtyard Marriott in Istanbul back in 2009. Guys with suits with mirrors checking under the cab for a bomb and then an airport luggage scanner right at the entrance. Not sure if it was because a western hotel or because we were in the airport flight path or both.
