Finally decided that BR is not the place we want to raise our family. Moving out of LA in 3 months.

Like so many others before me who have posted on TD, the pros simply don't outweigh the many cons in this area.

To us, Louisiana is starting to resemble a restaurant that is going downhill fast. Customers won't complain to the owner, they just stop going back...

This isn’t an airport. No need to announce your departure.

Yep, moved away 17 years ago, never looked back. Best move we ever made. No plans to ever go back.

We left a year ago and it has been divine. My other half has the roots in LA and she is even more excited to have moved than I am. She loves the rolling hills, orchards, horse farms, and wineries where we are now.

Kind of feels like I moved to the shire from Mordor

Lucky. I still regret not taking a job in Wyoming with Sinclair back in 2015. I'm an idiot.

I'm in East Tennessee and every time I go back home, which is 3-4 times a year to Nola or BR, I am stunned at how terrible it is. It just feels and looks gross. Litter, trashy people, bad infrastructure, etc.

It is really sad. And would be totally different if Louisiana could figure out how to elect different people.

You won’t regret it. And when you go back to LA to visit for the first time, you’ll wonder what took you so long I leave in the first place.
