Correct, just like movie theater makes money off concessions not the film/ticket admissions.

I hate they changed the sauce on their pulled pork sandwich.

Their brisket sandwiches aren't that good.

The meat is a little tough, and I don’t care for their bbq sauce. It’s way too acidic.

An underrated item is the sausage on a stick wrapped in a tortilla. The tacos are not bad either.

I was wanting the flavor of the meat to dominate. It didn't dominate, I'm not sure I tasted the meat, just the sauce.

I’ll give you a taste of the meat and the sauce

A Big Mac cost 8.50.

Tell us how a loaf of bread used to cost a nickel.

You're wondering why gas station food isn't awesome and had the lack of self awareness to post this publicly lol

Bucees quality is very mediocre. They get the hype because of the selection of stuff, nice bathrooms, and staff

Buccees bbq is convenience food and it is cheap. There is really good bbq in the heart of TX but a sammich side and drink will set you back $18. Keep it in perspective, it tasted better than bs fast food with less spit on it so you did fine

Yeah. All 16 or older. You know adults. $8.99 with upsize is $10. At 10% tax and someone wanting a malt, sundae or frozen coke and you are around $90-$100 bucks. Do you have older kids? Are you dumb?

Standard food pricing is 3x cost to cover your overhead and still make a profit.

Do you think you could make that sandwich for less than $2.83? And if so, how much cheaper?

Cost of the meat
Cost of the bun
Cost of the sauce

I travel a lot and I need something to look forward to. Buckees fills the bill. Stretch my legs, buy really good junk food, more than decent coffee and get help/service from cheerful, competent employees.
If you don’t like Buckees, it can only be because you haven’t stopped anywhere else. Is it the Four Seasons? No. But it doesn’t have to be. It just has to beat RaceTrac.

When I was a young whippersnapper I could buy a burger, fries, and a drink for a nickel! A nickel!

$8.50 is cheap as frick given current price levels. Comparable sandwich at McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's will cost about the same. And yeah, it's alright. It's just a clean, convenient place to stop for a pit stop and fill up when going on a road trip.

I liked the beef and bean burrito I got last time I went. Super junky, but it hit the spot.

They are a little pricey - but always excellent.

I eat them every chance I get - sometimes drive there just to get one (I like the sliced brisket better - wife likes the chopped)

Out of hundreds eaten only 1 or 2 have not been excellent.

Batting average for good brisket sandwich, other than at a nice restaurant, is about 50-50.

For eat on the go brisket sandwich, they cannot be beaten unless you have a secret local place you know for sure.

I kind of agree that it was good but not the hype.
Based on the reactions on this board I would have thought it would have been excellent.
I enjoyed it because it was different than what I normally eat. I would never pull in just to get one.
