If there isn’t a LA school involved I have a very hard time watching but that Texas - Miami game has a legit old-school feel to it

I think it's now team that's been away more often will be the home team
if they've been away an equal amount of times... then seed
so LSU should be home tonight vs. Oregon State (both have been away team 0 times... LSU 1 seed, OSU 2 seed)... Sam Houston should be home this afternoon vs. Tulane (both have been away 1 time... SHSU 3 seed, Tulane 4 seed)

I thought for some reason that was changing this year to higher seeded team was always the home team.
But I guess I’m wrong cause Coastal isn’t the home team right now.

It still goes by who’s been away more. The new rule is for if the teams have been away the same number of times. Such as LSU and Oregon State tonight. In the past they would have tossed a a coin. Now LSU is the home team by being the better seed.

They got rid of the coin flip though. Higher seed hosts if both teams were home team the day before. But if a 3 seed advances to the winners bracket to face a 1 seed, then the 3 seed would be home since they were the road team the day before and the 1 seed was home.
It's still a dumb rule because the 1 seed should be the host team on Saturdays since it's the most important game of the weekend, but at least its better than a coin flip I guess.
