What action film isn't over the top full of BS scenarios ?

I know that. I'm just stating the parts that were the worst for me. Those weren't even the most over the top parts. The little three wheeled moped car chase scene was probably the most over the top. Or the train roof fight scene.

Take the movie as is. It's not the original that we all watch as a kid but it is OK.

It's a Disney film so I was a bit concerned going in. I didnt notice anything Woke.

Did you read my original post? I said it was actually better than I expected and I also didn't find it to be woke. Outside of the black CIA agent part like you say but that didn't work out for her anyway.

You think a man standing at the end of a table full of men with guns can simply duck out of the way, dodge EVERY single bullet (as shown on the trailer) and escape unscathed?

Tell me you’ve never seen an action/fantasy/thrilller (much less an Indiana Jones movie) without telling me you’ve never seen an action/fantasy/thriller.

May I introduce you to “Women Talking”, or “Steel Magnolias”?

Seen all 3 Indy movies, and also Crystal Skull. Sorry but an 80 yr old man isn't 'ducking' out of the way of a dozen guys shooting at him from point blank range.

It makes the Naked Gun 2 1/2 gunfight scene look plausible.

Indiana Jones franchise has plenty instances of silly fight/chase scene moments.

I saw this movie yesterday. Rotten Tonatoes giving it 69/88.

Overall, very entertaining movie. The storyline is a little complex and over the top, but still enjoyed seeing it.

If Raiders of the Lost Ark is an A+, this gets a B or B-

This was beyond ridiculous . Even for Indy. Yes, there’s humor but that scene was pure parody - Naked Gun level.

Watched it last night with a buddy. The 1st 20 minutes were pretty good. The CGI of Harrison Ford’s face was good and the action was the same. After that it just didn’t hold up. The chase scene through the town was boring, The old men trying to run made me laugh.

If older Indy had not gotten involved the villain would never had a shot of going through with his plan.

I did not notice any woke stuff. A few callbacks to the other movies but all done very clunkily. I did not like Wombat. She seemed so self centered based on being the daughter of a man that was supposed to be this great guy that was a really close friend of Indy that we’ve never seen before.

I went in hoping it was better than the crystal skull. I’m not sure it was. Crystal skull is pretty good for the 1st 2/3 of the movie. I was just bored for 2/3 of this one.

I understand you have to suspend reality for these movies but there comes a point when suspending reality just turns into absurdity. If I knew I could post spoilers I would post about all the incidences that pushes it to the verge of absurdity.

You are talking about a man that jumped into a refrigerator and survived an atomic bomb.

Saw this last week.

-There is no wokeness. None at all.

-I actually really like Phoebe Waller-Bridge from her work in Fleabag. And she does a good job in this film. But, the script does her no favors. She is set up to be hated a little too much. And she seemingly completely changes character half way through the film for no real reason. It’s a shame because a little bit better writing job could easily have had the audience on her side.

-About 3/4ths of the film is pretty good. But the ending really goes off the rails. That’s hard to overcome unfortunately.

-Overall, this film is decent. Not great but also not the train wreck everyone expected. For a summer time waster/popcorn flick, you could do much worse.

-Dial of Destiny ranks 4th of the 5 Indy films. It would be nearly impossible to touch the first 3 films at this point. But, Dial is also significantly better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

If you’re interested in this film, go see it. You won’t be disappointed.

I finally watched Crusade last year and absolutely hated it.

How is this even possible? It was a great movie, probably my favorite of the entire series. It was aptly titles the Last Crusade and it should have remained that way.

Yes, I am.

And what keeps those bullets from going through the table ? Or at least one bad guy moving slightly to the left or right and just shooting him anyways?

Massive oof, and that's not even the worst part of this mess.

But don't ask questions, just consume content...

plot armor is in almost every action movie. realism isn’t a trait of indiana Jones movies.

in the very first indiana jones he tried to replace a gold statue with a bag of fricking sand. and he takes sand out! do you know how fricking dense gold is? Indiana Jones doesn’t.

it requires some suspension of disbelief.

I’m saw it today and got bored. Really didn’t care for the Werner Von Braun story line. My son liked it though.
