This is what happens when parents are more into themselves than being parents.

What a crazy country we've become.

I don’t care enough to agree with them. I do notice the whining on this board, and most of the whiners are whining on other boards as well. Extremists on both sides of the aisle are stupid, but I have yet to see anything extreme in a Star Wars movie or show. And no, queer representation is not extreme.

Star Wars “fans” are the softest, whiniest, most inconsolable fanbase on earth, and literally nothing would please them. No sane person would blame Disney for not catering to that group. They haven’t been watching anyway, right?

This is quite possibly the most on the nose lowest hanging fruit of intersectional identity politics in entertainment, and you still can't call it what it is. You would rather attack those who have been warning against this shite. This is sad. Feel how you want about star wars fans, but this isn't an example you can excuse away.

It's weird you're defending it.

Which is the point.

The bankers love the insta-money they get from the brand, but the modern social engineers are out to find every male-driven franchise and lampoon it until the fans all abandon it and even its legacy is irreparably damaged. They're doing this with everything they can get their hands on, it's not just Star Wars. Disney just happens to be the most down with the cause of any entertainment company.

This is the wrong thread to call it out in. It's ok to give the ones you disagree with a win when there isn't a doubt they are right. This show is one of those examples. You don't have to dig your heels in.

Instead of saying "yeah but...." you would have been better off not posting at all. It makes you look like a pretzel trying to justify your posts.

You are an "extremist", but that word is just a typical dismissal from any intellectual honesty. You don't see anything extreme because you refuse to accept context, history or anything else that refutes your fantasy land ideology. It's why "queer representation" now includes pretending a penis makes you a woman and men can get pregnant. You make up your little world and hurl insults at anyone that doesn't buy in.

Not sure why I need a space opera about modern American politics and identity issues. If I wanted that I could simply turn on everything else.

This generation of writers and producers in Hollywood are so boring.

I’m not defending it. I doubt I’ll even watch it. It’s that y’all have been bitching about post-Lucas Star Wars for literal YEARS. Are you guys expecting the franchise to be something it has taken transformative steps to no longer be? It’s done. It’s over. I’d say watch something you enjoy, but deep down, I think y’all truly just enjoy bitching about it.

Sound terrible but Russian Doll was an amazing show.

She knows how to write, but I’m just not super into this concept.

Edit: ok the premise could be cool if this is like a Jedi crim drama. Best case scenario this is liberal write talk and they just made a show. The DND movie writers said shite like this and the movie was good.

Season 1 was good. I haven't seen season 2 yet, but I read that there was a dropoff.

I don't Know how’s it a concept you revisit.

I didnt watch season 2 because season 1 jus felt like such a complete story.

I legitimately appreciate the heads up ahead of time to avoid it, Leslye.

They are going to make the villain an Orange alien, aren't they?

On the bright side, if that happens then just imagine what Hollywood will be like in 30-40 years with showrunners that grew up self-inserting themselves into the current villains. Entire shows and movie franchises about anti-woke orange men fighting against the alphabet people and their technocratic corpo overlords.

I haven't seen the referenced show, but I wish more shows would do contained one season stories.
