Going there this weekend to some friends camp. Wondering how the fishing is there? Is it worth it to bring my boat from BR?Or should I just stick to peir fishing? Any tips from you great fishermen?

Should be able to catch stripers in the lights still at night.
Fishing should be decent enough to make it worth the boat haul.
We do well with white rooster tails and white bandit 6’

In my experience, it’s a much better and more relaxing time to get some crickets and catch a mess of hand size blue gill and chinquapin from the dock. Don’t complicate it, your friends invited you to spend time together, not for you to make a serious fishing weekend out of it.

Bass fishing should be pretty decent around piers. Bream are moving up. May be able to catch some big ones, but I don't think they're stacked up or anything. You can also catch large mouth and stripers right now on the lights at night. Meaning the underwater green lights at people's piers. There's lots of them.

100% do not bring your boat. Fish off the dock early in the morning if you are wanting to fish but Bruin gets so crowded during the day the fishing is really not good.

Is the catfishing any good? I’m not far from there and would love to go drop a few noodles one weekend. Or even tight line. Any ideas on the best bait?

I’d recommend you fish for one of the wealthy MS ladies partying on daddy’s pier. There was alway a passel of them up yon in the 90’s.
