Not enough fastballs imo. Hard to have a consistent release point throwing off-speed 4/5 pitches. At some point when you start walking back-to-back batters it becomes mental and when that point is reached it doesn't matter what pitch is called.

everyone is saying "not enough fastballs" but has anyone actually charted our breaking ball % compared to previous years? I don't trust a gut instinct over something like this

Little for example was missing numerous fastballs, badly, on Sunday.

Not enough fastballs are being called throughout the games. This is leading to falling behind consistently in counts.

Little was mainly fastballs

Little has terrible mechanics. When you're a right hander, and you're consistently not chest squared to the plate on delivery, falling off the mound toward the on deck circle, guess where that pitch is going to end up.

It’s that most of the balls are so bad that a 12U AA bench player (Braxton) wouldn’t think of swinging at them. Not even remotely close to the strike zone

I’m a little concerned, but I am also allowing for the possibility that Wes Johnson is forcing pitchers to work on things that are making them less effective.

It would not surprise me if the repertoire of the pitchers reduces a bit, and their control increases, right about the time of the last SEC weekend.

They should all study Skenes. Same thing every time, big leg push, huge stride and so on.

Though to be fair, I think Paul gets some calls the others don't (especially the l-r outside FB that comes back towards RH batters).

There is a pitching coach, he calls the pitches based on what the computer tells him. Throw away the analytics.
