The only thing I'm advocating for is for teachers to not get in trouble if a girl wants to be called a boys name
They still can with the parents approval

They still can. They will just have to clue the parents in as well.

I didn't see anything in the bill that prevents teachers from talking to parents about their kids
The bill literally keeps some teachers from manipulating impressionable kids with their ideologies. That's it. If you see that as a bad thing then maybe you need to go look at the bill again, watch some of the freaks that testified against the bill, then think about why it's OK for those people to talk to 4th graders about being gay. It's not. This stops that BS and makes teachers relay info to the parents that the parents need to be aware of.
I think you demonized this bill before really thinking about it and instead of admitting that you are digging the hole further and further.

So if a kid tells a teacher he/she is gay, the teacher should get in trouble?
You didn't watch the video at all.
The teacher is gay and was constantly talking to her 4th-grade class about being gay. She claims the class then said they are gay too.
Do you think 4th graders are really gay or are they just being influenced by the gay teacher because they are very impressionable?

What in the actual hell is wrong with you?
I am not the one that is naive to how impressionable children are by their teachers. You are.

What about circumcision? Generally I think a child should be able to give legal consent for gender reassignment, and by law, a child can't give consent. But... we legally allow parents to circumcize their child without the kids permission... so I would not want a bill that sends mutiliation docs to jail for life to catch docs who circumsize.
Only a groomer would equivocate 1 medical procedure that has thousands of years worth of data proving it’s safety and health benefits while having no long term negative impact on the health and well-being of the patient with another medical procedure that is literally the opposite in every way.

Why are you ok with teachers discussing any kind of sexuality with students? It is extremely inappropriate.

Outside of sex ed in 6th grade, and maybe a few crude jokes by my football coaches, I can't remember any time a teacher in my school would even approach the subject. Something is wrong with this generation of teachers that think it's appropriate to discuss sexuality outside of the normal curriculum.

Its post history would say you are likely correct.

It was the greatest accounting entry of all time.
Debit School Revenue $100M
Credit General Fund Revnue sent to schools $100M.
Yes, the Legislature did supplant the general funds with the special "gaming" funds, but you got the entry backwards.

Wrong again!!
The poster I was responding to proposed a law. This is what happens when laws are passed without thinking about the ramifications.
Of course there should be such an exception.

The reality is kids come to teachers with all sorts of personal issues. Most teachers generally care about their students and it would be heartless for a teacher to tell their student sorry I can’t talk or listen to you.
Why do you think teachers are mandatory reporters when it comes to abuse?? Because they are told things no one else is told.

The vast vast majority of teachers are not approaching the subject, they are responding to it.
Y’all act like every teacher out there spends 6 hrs a day convincing kids to be gay or trans.
The amount of hatred this board had for teachers is truly stunning.

They shouldn't be responding to it either. The frick is wrong with you?

Or, frick groomers. I know you don't like that though.
Plenty of teachers make it through the day without having inappropriate conversations with their students. Why are you so hellbent on defending the creeps?

quote:WTF is wrong with you? Have you kept your head in the sand and completely missed the stories about kids that got sex change surgery or put on hormone replacement therapy only to regret it later on? Little 12 year old Jane decides she wants to be Johnny and gets put on hormone blockers, then a few years later changes her mind and goes back to being Jane and wants a traditional family of her own. But now Jane will never be able to get pregnant because of the hormone blockers she started taking in junior high. You think kids should be allowed to make irreversible life changing medical decisions? Our government doesn't think that a 20 year old is mature enough to drink alcohol or buy tobacco products, but you think a child is mature enough to decide they want gender reassignment surgery with irreversible effects?
Generally I think a child should be able to give legal consent for gender reassignment

The poster proposed a law outlawing mutilation and sterilization. No rational, intelligent person considers circumcisions to be either of those things.
The fact that you do proves you are not a rational or intelligent person.
The fact that you continue to try to equivocate circumcision with chopping off an 8 year old’s penis proves you’re exactly the kind of freak this new law is targeting. No wonder you’re melting so hard about it.

That's a good way to build a strong, secure classroom LOL

When Little Jane says they think they might be a lesbian or they think they might really be more like a boy, how the hell is that inappropriate?
This is the issue. You think being gay is inappropriate.

I twice posted a video of a 4th-grade teacher in Louisiana admitting she initiated the conversation about being gay. Even if the vast majority aren't doing it, some are and this bill stops that.
Only a freak would think talking to young impressionable kids about being gay and sex is appropriate.
If the teacher wants to "respond" to it now they have to clue the parents in and get their permission. Again, that is a good thing.
