Landowners perspective here.

I might net $100 a year leasing my land to a farmer. A solar company offers me $800 per year, with a 2% increase every year.

That’s not a very difficult decision, if you’re trying to earn a living.

Those checks are gonna stop coming after a few years and you’re gonna have to deal with removing the panels on your dime

On top of the surface lease, I feel like you should get a royalty on the power generated from your land. Similar to O&G royalties.
