There’s an easy solution to your quandary.

Let’s see if you are a super smart progressive and figure it out.

Why are you so upset about people getting indicted for coordinating their separatist activities with Russian intelligence?

Imagine Decatur's reaction if a CIA asset was put in handcuffs and arrested for our election meddling in another country? He'd want to start WWIII, even though he has no problem with those from other countries being arrested for the exact damn thing.

Russian government arrests people for thinking and speaking out against official government positions.

The US government does the same.

If the following are crimes, we are on a very dangerous, authoritarian, and downright unfree path.
quote:

Conspiring to Use U.S. Citizens as Illegal Agents of the Russian Government

quote:

Sow Discord

quote:

Spread Pro-Russia Propaganda

Interfere in Elections Within the United States

The government could easily arrest me for speaking out against the corruption and stupidity of our government’s involvement in the Ukraine.

And Decatur and the rest of our Democrats would cheer as fed agents hauled me away. I can hear some of the posts...”shouldn’t have used pro Russia talking points” and “he’s a Putin lover.” As if any of that, even if true, are grounds to have someone arrested and prosecuted. This is the most extreme, out of control, unaccountable, and abusive DOJ in our history.

Democracy.

Decatur literally argued with me that Nigel Farage was a Russian asset, despite the fact that Farage's entire political career revolved around getting the UK out of the EU, which began when John Major's Tory government ratified the 1992 Maastricht Treaty, years before we ever knew who Vladimir Putin was.

Are you working at the direction of the Russian Federation and haven’t notified the AG? If not you should be ok on that front. No need for the drama.

They’re in trouble because they operated as foreign agents of the Russian Federation without notifying the Attorney General as required by law.

So, just to be clear, if I get a job offer tomorrow from the Russian government. And that job is to pay me to post memes on the internet. You think that should be illegal, and something that should have to registered with the government for?

These were not lobbyists or campaign staffers.

If more information comes out, maybe it will look different.

But anyone, and any government, should be allowed to advertise, post memes, comment on social media, etc.

These are not criminal offenses, regardless of the content or the source of payment.

Every time this poster waxes poetic about rights and liberties, send him back to this post. This answer is further proof that American leftists are pure authoritarians.

It's insane that people are apparently OK with taking a nearly 100 year-old law meant to restrict ACTUAL foreign agents and using it to arrest people posting internet memes.

This rivals Civil Asset Forfeiture as one of the worst laws on the books in America.

You are not a serious poster, you are a lickspittle for the Democrat Party. You still believe in the Russian dossier. You believe everything the Biden Administration tells you, unequivocally, without question. So there is no real point in engaging with you in a serious discussion on political matters.

All I will say is that if you are unable to see (and I know you and others are unable) how the government can use the indictment herein and the case behind it to target and prosecute almost anyone, with very little discretion, then that is a very dangerous problem.

I have a Russian wife. I have Russian in laws. I have communicated with Russian government officials on more than one occasion for a variety of necessary bureaucratic measures.

I’m a small fry in real life. So there’s probably not a lot of motivation behind making an example of me for fear and intimidation purposes. But if I were significant in the Trump campaign, or the Texit movement, or if I protested on J6, or any other number of activities, I could be an easy target for yet another political prosecution.

Now, I know your thought probably is I would deserve prison if I worked in a significant position for the Trump campaign, or if I was active in peaceful separation of Texas, or if I protested on J6. But no, none of those activities are illegal.

Radical communists that defend Soviet Union style communism. Whereas modern American woke commies will acknowledge Soviet communism’s evils (and say something like “but that wasn’t REAL communism”), tankies will argue the USSR was the ideal.
