Man, i wish I was close.

George Herter was an interesting man. I have a book by him on making wine. Very interesting. I also have a copy of his 1970 catalogue. I still use one of his single stage reloaders.

I do have a friend in Huston who may be able to meet up to grab and hold them till the next time he comes to town.

How soon do you need them picked up?

If I wasn’t in Montana for another month or so I would get them. I know people who would treasure these. Good luck with finding a new owner!

I talked to my friend.
He said he can pick them up next week if that will work for you.

Keep the Vincent Price Cookbook. That is one of the best, with recipes from restaurants around the world. Was one of my mother's favorites.

Is that possibly written by our own TulaneLSU? Is he possibly old enough? Because the style really sounds like him, detailed and well written but kinda annoyed as well.

So, that's so bizarre. How to take it? Was he entirely full of shite, almost satirical, or was he trying to be legit?
IOW should the recipes be ignored and viewed as some odd food-history thing?
quote:

In all the bizarre fantasy, Herter comes across as crustily well-meaning and totally convinced he’s wising everybody up, so his books are oddly endearing, like a visit to a pleasantly cranky bonnet just crammed with bees.

Exactly.
