M. Williams is more a offguard/Wing player but she can handle the ball. She will probably handle the ball more as her career goes on at LSU but year one she will mostly be off guard

Sorry but Mikaylah Williams will be our starting point guard from day 1 when she arrives on campus.

No, she will not. If we don't pickup a PG in the portal, Poole will more than likely be the starter there. Now if they go and get Van Lith and put HER at the PG, that would change things. But Kim is NOT going to start Williams at the PG with Velez coming in the same class.

With that being said, I really think we need post help more than guard help. I'd love to see Kim get the young lady from Stanford. Having her and Reese at the center and power forward would be unstoppable against ANY team.

I like Rogers from Oregon as well. Very similar stats as Morris and a better shooter from the three then the girl from Louisville.

There seems to be a lot of smoke Betts (Stanford) is leaning towards UCLA but that would be an amazing add. Ideally we can add a true Center, veteran PG, another F and G in the portal.

The talent this team has and potentially could have is crazy. I’ve added ESPN top 100 rankings to illustrate. * potential transfer

G H. VanLith Sr. (20’#7)*or E. Rogers Gs. (19’#36)*
G F. Johnson So. (22’#26)
G M. Williams Fr. (23’#2)

Bench: K. Poole Jr. (20’#24), L. Poa Jr. (NA), A. Velez Fr. (23’#44), J. Kent Fr. (23’#76) A. Williams So. (NA), Impact Transfer*

F A. Reese Jr. (20’#2)
F Transfer Center*

Bench: S. Smith So. (22’#58), A. DelRosario Fr. (23’#7), A. Bartlett Jr. (21’#51), Impact Transfer*

Need to watch Valez’s tape she is a true PG with great handles and passing game, she can score also, so don’t sleep on her to start at PG with Williams/Flae’jae at other guards and Smith/Reese on interior

Maybe it was just me but i wasn't very impressed with poole as a player.

I only watched a few games. Hopefully, they can upgrade that point guard spot.

Poole had experience and was a good defender. She actually shoots like 42 percent from 3. She is a good person to have come off the bench. I wouldn’t start her next year but she could play valuable minutes and so could Poa. We still need to get a true point to give Velez time to adjust to the college game. Williams will start day one.

Poole and Poa are valuable to the program. Both came through when it counted.

PG - Rogers / Van Lith (I think we get one, not both)
SG- Flaujae
SF - M. Williams
PF - Reese
C - Del Rosario / Smith / Portal

I agree. You definitely won’t get both. With Rogers-Van Lith-Mikaylah Williams-Flau’jae Johnson, somebody would have to sit and no one in that quartet is sitting.

Kim’s position lineup isn’t that well defined. Basically three backcourt and two posts is the best you can define it.

Considering Mulkey was Van Lith second choice out of high school and LSU could use an experienced point guard, I’d be surprised if she doesn’t come here.

If LSU can pull Van Lith Kim needs to get another veteran big
and a shooter that can come off the bench.

Kind of surprised that we haven’t landed a commit yet out the portal. Hell Ole miss got them a commit already.

None of the big schools have landed commits either. Plus LSU played much later into the season than they did last year (season ended 3 weeks earlier). Most are taking their time and being picky. Ole Miss more so jumped on kids early in the portal. I wouldn’t panic at all

LSU didn’t announce any commits until like the third week of April last year.

Yeah I have all the trust in the world with Kim at the helm. I am sure they are working on their targets. I think We get 2 maybe 3 at the most.

If you recruit over Velez and del Rosario they could easily bolt to Tenn

It’s not about recruiting over the two freshman. It’s about developing them for minutes down the stretch and for the next year to create depth like SC had the last 4 years. There is no way those two will be ready to start as soon as they get to campus. The portal gives and it takes. That’s the chance you take. Once the core foundation of Smith, Williams, Velez, Kent, and Delessaro mature you won’t be going to the portal for starters but for depth pieces.

I think both Vélez and Del Rosario understand they won’t be starting and getting the bulk of the minutes. Recruiting fifth year plug-and-play seniors in the portal should not affect them.

Now returning veterans Kateri Poole and Last’Tear Poa might not care for an impact guard coming aboard. Poole may feel she’s earned the start at PG.

But in Kim I trust. I’m sure she’s taken everybody’s temperature and has planned out what she feels is best for the team.

Just because they haven't announced doesn't mean nothing has happened. The draft just happened. No point in sharing the news cycle.

She hasn't. She turns the ball over too much.

Bringing in veteran players that the freshman can learn from will be crucial for Del Rosario in particular. I can see her making a big impact in year two and three especially. She has the raw talent but will probably need time in a college strength and conditioning program before we see her real potential.
