I think their inaction is reprehensible but in my opinion it amounts to a civil matter and does not rise to a criminal matter. Many shooters are in therapy and the psychotropic drugs are a contributing factor. The Newton CT psychiatrist did not get hauled into criminal court. Slippery slope criminalizing parenting failures. BUT, I certainly understand everyone’s outrage.

I’m curious then, what behavior (or lack thereof) do you think should rise to a criminal manner when it comes to neglect of a minor?

Parental responsibility statutes have been in effect in the U.S. for at least 100 years

The Newtown CT psychiatrist didn’t buy the guns used in the shooting as a gift for the shooter either.

Based on the evidence, their actions definitely crossed the line over into criminal activity. In full disclosure, Oldmanbeasley is not an attorney but did get a handjob from a slightly chubby law student so he’s not completely out of his depth either.
