If so it's interesting that he would choose McNeese. I know it would just be a stepping stone to the next job, but he no longer has ties to LA and other opportunities have been reported.

Those ties didn't just disappear because he isn't the coach at LSU anymore...

Gents, it would be epic for McNeese to hire Wade and as a McNeese alum, my checkbook is open.
They are automatically relevant again. Don't really care if it's just or 1 or 2 years. McNeese has had some good teams in the past with Bill Reigel winning a NAIA title, Joe Dumars in the 80s, and several good teams in the 90s and early 2000s. The new arena is a nice draw, and the recruits will come between that and the damn strong offers. Unfortunately, It will be a joy watching Wade outcoach McMahon for the next couple years, if he lasts that long.

LSU alum living in LC, my checkbook would be open to buy season tickets as well.

Will Wade just wants a series with the Cajuns so he can get another piece of Bob Marlin.
That would make for some good entertainment.

I am an LSU and McNeese alumnus. The check that went to TAF when Wade was coach will go to McNeese if they hire him.
When LSU achieves the results they had with Wade, they will get checks again. They may be waiting a long time.

It was 5 level one violations by Will.
I’ll bet my bottom dollar he is not “cleared,” the hammer just has not dropped.
I’m sure McNeese will have language in the contract to protect themselves when it drops and under the circumstances would be happy with one season of Wade.
But someone can answer the question: if Will Wade is “cleared,” why is he settling for the McNeese job when he’d undoubtedly get multiple offers from big programs?

Why is Slick Rick at Iona?

Listen to the McNeese coaches show last night on the way to church. I believe it was the AD for McNeese, said while there's is a deal done and in place, he has talked to CWW's representation

Wade was on McNeese campus for 4 straight days last week.

I’m afraid there’s a growing contingent that actually thinks this will happen.

That's why I don't buy him going to McNeese if he is "cleared" to coach next season. The path that he could take, if "cleared" is the same one Sean Miller took. Fired from Arizona amidst an ongoing investigation. Sat out a season. Hired by Xavier before the IARP issued its ruling after satisfying Xavier that he wouldn't face individual penalties from Arizona that would follow him to Xavier.
Even at the mid-major level there will be FAR better jobs available than McNeese. And even if Wade were to take it you know he would be looking to get out of that job ASAP. It could be that even without sanctions the rest of the college basketball landscape is very suspicious of Wade and simply doesn't want to take a chance on him right now. Thus, McNeese is his only real offer. But I still think this is a push by Wade to signal to other, much better programs, that he is "hireable". That, or he is still very unsure if he will get a show cause penalty and McNeese (desperate for any kind of attention in basketball) is at least willing to show interest.
If I'm Wade, and I know I can be hired by someone for next season, I'm pushing hard for the Georgetown job. That's his recruiting area at a place where there is no question basketball is the top athletic priority at the school. There won't be a fight with football for resources, and I'm certain he can get some Georgetown alums (many of whom have deep pockets) who remember the glory days of the 80's and to some degree the 90's to buy in on the NIL front.
That match just makes far too much sense for Wade and Georgetown....who should finally be ready to move on from the John Thompson tree.

He already has 2 recruits and an assistant there too

Yep. You jump in and keep Murray/Nickleberry. You probably come take Ward from LSU and get him back to DC (most people probably don't realize Ward was a Wade/Nickleberry recruit who had interest in LSU long before McMahon was hired). Then, you build the rest of the team with (at least in the first year) mid-atlantic/northeast players. At LSU Wade recruited Virginia and the beltway area harder than any other area in the country. He has deep ties there.
I don't want to see Wade at Georgetown because I think he would do well there (and likely take one of LSU's current freshmen). But if I'm him, THAT is the job I desperately want.

The NCAA continues to drag their feet as a way to shadow ban Will Wade. They know they can’t officially suspend him so they have slow played the investigation for so long and leaked enough info to damage his reputation and scare other teams away.
If they had the goods, he’d already have a show cause.
