Are cities like Colorado Springs and SLC really surprisingly beautiful? I think they are kinda expected to be beautiful. Pittsburg and El Paso are more surprising because most people don’t really think beauty when talking about them.

It's right next to San Fran. Downvote just for that.

El Paso

That’s my first thought. I absorbed as part of my work territory five years ago. I was really surprised when I arrived.

Some interesting facts

It’s huge. 23rd biggest city in the US at 700k

Also, safest city in US for cities 500k+

Massive military north of town with Ft bliss

Everyone just associates it with Juarez so it’s assumed to be the same

The only bad thing is Beto is from there.

Doesn’t even matter anymore! New Orleans has passed it for to be the 7th most violent city in the world. Juarez 8th now.

I think parts of Atlanta are very beautiful, it’s in the piedmont.

Any major city has its shite but Atlanta really is in a nice area topography wise and not being in a land locked state.

Agreed.

Atlanta is an underrated, if not underappreciated, very pretty city.

I really liked Richmond. I only had a few hours to check out out. Had a really neat park on an island and a cool bar area nearby.

Boulder is maybe my favorite city.

Boston is the cleanest big city.

Columbus

Surprisingly...Columbus...THE fastest growing city in the entire Midwest! It looks completely out of place compared to other Midwestern cities. If you didn't know any better, you would think it is a sunbelt city. This city is the new driving force of the Midwest.

don’t find it as awful as a lot of people make it out to be. It has shitty areas, sure. But it also has some that are quite nice and it is situated pleasantly in its setting.

Maybe mountain brook but not birmingham proper.

Not sure how a small city on the coast of California would be considered “surprisingly” beautiful.

The old city yes, the outskirts are kind of ghetto/sad to drive through.

Budva is pretty cool too.
