So many great movies. YouTube “waiting on a star to fall: a tribute to 80’s entertainment” for a great montage

Easy for me to think first of the array of HS themed movies, from Fast Times, 16 Candles and even Ferris Bueller. But I had to think wider than just that narrow genre. There are the action movies, sci-fi and fantasy, cheesy comedies, this is a tougher question to answer than it seems.
E.T. seems to capture a whole array of different themes all in one movie.
There's even a nod to what I think was the biggest movie of the decade, The Empire Strikes Back.

The Running Man should be in the conversation.

Micki & Maude starring Dudley Moore, Amy Irving and Ann Reinking. Captures the zeitgeist of 1980's self-absorption perfectly, and just as wacky as the era was.

Automatically disqualified for not having a hit soundtrack album. Any movie in the 1980s that did not have multiple hit songs from its soundtrack by definition can not be the most 80s movie. It has to be something along the lines of Footloose, Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop, Flashdance, etc.
I was going to nominate Better Off Dead but then I realized it failed in this area as well.

I don’t know what’s shittier the power glove or that movie. Both were extremely terrible, don’t go back and watch it, it aged poorly. Power glove was always shite though.
