Apparently they are launching a new proposal for an 80 team tournament. Perez at Real Madrid is supposedly one of the guys leading the charge on this. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus are the last three holdouts and hired A22 sports management a consultancy firm to sponsor and assist in the launch of the league.

Wonder if all this Man City being relegated out of the EFL has given them a jolt to get it up and going.

It's going to happen, these greedy bastards will find a way to get it done. The fact that they are back with proposals even after the humiliation of the last attempt tells us all we need to know.

If there’s 80 teams, is it really a Super League?

I mean Wolves could be in it

Would be this be a Champions League spin-off, or essentially doing away with the top domestic divisions (premier league, La Liga, etc) and those top teams playing a full 38ish game schedule in a European wide “league”.. assuming it’s the second thing which sounds terrible. What’s the point (outside of the obvious, money) if you already have the Champions League.

maybe they want to unify the top clubs into a system that promotes better games every week than they get in their leagues

Without Wolves, it would just be League One.
