Book 1 was great, and I know a lot of people love the whole series. For me, the more the “Cosmere” comes into play in the later books and the more time spent in Shadesmar (a place which still makes no sense to me), the less I’ve enjoyed them. The last one Rhythm of War was a struggle for me to get through. The Cosmere deep cuts in The Lost Metal were also the worst parts of that book, and completely unnecessary. JMO, I know I’m probably in the minority here.

I feel the same. I don't really understand it.

I haven't read Stormlight yet. I was saving it for when I finished Mistborn Era 2. Unfortunately, Stormlight is required to understand WTF is happening in Lost Metal. My enjoyment of that book was completely tanked by this.
Like I understand it, but I would prefer if the series weren't so blatently Cosmere(ish). I would prefer a separate series that I could skip should I feel like it.

Same. I still love the Stormlight books but the earlier books, when it was political backstabbing and whatnot, were more compelling than the later books which become more…high fantasy? And yeah Shadesmar is a total drag to me.
I’m halfway through Warbreaker and loving it. Will likely do Mistborn next.
