I don’t really have a dog in this fight since the guy originally ran but it’s hard to let them cuff you up properly when your head is being used as a speed bag
What about the 15 minutes they tried while not punching him at all?

This has to be something personal between one of these cops & this guy that caused this beating from all of the cops. They did all this knowing all of this was going to be on body cam footage.

Sorry, I'm not on board with the "you must cower and concede to being knocked around for petty (or no) crime or else face potential death by beating"

He literally refused to get on his stomach from the very beginning and was keeping his hands tight on himself rather than putting them behind him.

I did notice one of the cops lied about Nichols swinging on him/reaching for his gun as he tried to pull him out of the car. It's a little hard to see but I don't see any of that.

There was no crime the best we can tell. The guy was coming home from shift at Federal Express and had terrible IBS, which is why he was so skinny. He was probably having stomach pain which is why he was driving so erratically, if that’s even true

So you kick him in the face while he's pinned down?

We being collective society

We elect sheriffs, give them the power to appoint officers, and give those officers immense power over the population. Putting people in positions of immense power without appropriate training on responsibly using that power is always going to leave a window open for disaster to creep in.

I'm glad you were able to pull that from my comment. Good reading comprehension

The comment I was responding to was just wrong about saying he never resisted when the cops weren't beating him. That doesn't justify what the cops did

They could have handled that way better. No reason to repeatedly spray and tase his arse 5 guys should be able to pin and cuff 1 man. Also why is an un marked car that’s part of a organized crime unit doing routine traffic stops?

They could have cuffed him at the very start when he was on the ground. Instead of giving him clear instruction they all just kept screaming get on the ground over and over and were telling him how they were going to beat his arse and taser him. Some of y'all are insane to wonder why he ran. They scared the ever living shite out of the dude from the very beginning over fricking traffic stop.

at what point do we stop feeling bad for criminals and thugs who don’t follow the law or commands.

I get what you are saying, but you are synonymizing "law" with "commands". Police issue all kinds of unlawful commands and if you stand up for your rights as a citizen you are often cast by police as a criminal. Not saying this is what happened here, just speaking generally.

They need to end qualified immunity and force police to carry insurance on themselves. Also the position needs to be professalized by giving it more rigorous standards and significant pay increases. I'm so tired of the tax payer being held liable for terrible departments that hire the bottom of the genetic barrel to roam the streets with a badge and gun.

I dont know who the guy was. I know that after watching all the footage, it looked like he stood no chance and the cops were trying to make the situation as bad as possible and frick him up badly. I am glad the cops are gone and wont ever serve again

It seemed like they were all at the 10/10 intensity level from the GET GO. And the guy never had a chance to react otherwise. A lot different from most of these vids I’ve seen.

Frick around and find out. That is pretty basic.

Yeah, and people can die from single punches to the head. That doesn't make it graphic. The way it was hyped up I was expecting the cops to baton him for 5 minutes straight.

Exactly. It almost seems like they wanted him to react so they could kick his arse. The way they acted was way too over the top intense and would have made damn near anyone "resist" just out of pure fear.

The light pole video is pretty damn graphic and those cops deserve the murder charge.

So far have seen nothing that is worse than Rodney King. King was beat repeatedly with police batons.

They will get some time to workout in prison since 5 of them clearly weren’t strong enough to handle him

There’s an obvious difference between matching a suspects aggression with an appropriate aggressive response and what happened in that video. I don’t really understand how anyone can defend them after watching that.

If you're okay with watching a man's death, that's on you bro.
