Got GA tickets for this weekend, any tips from those have been before? Absolutely pumped!

If you can go on the Friday, I would highly recommend it, even if it’s just to get a lay of the land. The facility is big and confusing to get around on a non race weekend, so just imagine what a race weekend brings.

Also, idk if you have bought a parking pass yet? But I would def look into what routes to take to get specifically to that lot. My biggest headache in the past was just all the logistics involved to get into the track/facility.

But once you get past that headache, it’s a blast! - Bring binoculars if you can as well.

Any idea on how easy it is to get in and out of the area with a parking pass?

I've read horror stories. The concensus seems to be to stay for the concert(s) afterwards.

LOL. The year I had a parking pass I sat in the parking lot for about an hour without moving. Tried the shuttle bus back to town and that was no better.

They're a shite show. We always stay in the RV lot so it's not as bad when you can pop in and out back to the RV for food and drinks.

Seriously though if you have a parking pass then you might as well stay after the race and kill some time. When we went in 2021 we stayed for the Saturday night concert and once at the car were back in downtown Austin in 30 minutes. On Sunday we left right after the race and it took 3 hours. I wished we'd have just killed a couple hours at the track, there's some post race concerts and stuff like that. Having some snacks and road beers in the car made the wait a little better.

We are going every day, and got a parking pass at Austin Race Parking northeast of the track. Was planning on milling around the track and taking everything in on Friday for sure.

Left after the concerts and waited for buses for over hours. Was insane.

Proper preparation for sure.

First year doing a parking pass so we will see how it goes. Have heard the traffic improvements since 2021 help a lot. Still not a lot of hope I will be out of their quickly.

Based on ticket prices, I’d say there is going to be waaay less people than the shite show that was 2021

Oooofff, just looked, ticket prices have TANKED. 3 day turn 12 grandstands can be had for about $400 when I looked last night. Those tickets when they went on sale were around $1000 each.

Our turn 12 tickets were 400 each.

Location in the stands will greatly vary though. Per stubhub row 10 is $600 and row 25 is $810

I know everyone is focused on the USGP right now, but I just wanted to insert a couple of things.

Yuki Tsunoda wants to make clear that he wants to race for Red Bull, and he's concerned that the team may be wondering about the rumors linking Yuki to Aston Martin when they partner up with Honda. He has no idea what the discussions are between Honda and Red Bull, so he wants to make clear that he wants a future with Red Bull. 2024 is going to be the make-or-break season for him.

Holy smokes, this sounds awesome:

"Disney+ has set a 15 November release date for a Keanu Reeves-presented documentary series on the Brawn GP team's famous romp to the 2009 Formula 1 world title."

motorsport.com/f1/news/disney-to-release-four-part-f1-docu-series-on-brawn-gp

2009 was a crazy season with the new rules. The story starts in 2008 with Honda giving up on the 2008 season early and working hard on the 2009 car, then the economic collapse and Honda deciding to get out of F1, then they basically gave the team to Ross Brawn, who then had to secure an engine and get it fitted to the car. Then Brawn and Jenson Button dominated early with the double-diffuser. Amid protest, eventually F1 confirmed that the double-diffuser was legal, so the other teams then scrambled to create their own double-diffusers. Button dominated the first half of the season, then hung on for dear life in the second half of the season as Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel became the dominant car. Basically the dominant Red Bull 2010-2013 era started in the second half of the 2009 season. Oh, and Brawn GP became Mercedes.

Its the first time since race was brought here that Tx longhorns have a decent team. So likely lost some of them, evwn though they play at Houston its not that far nor as expensive.
