This coordinator’s perspective is a bit antiquated. This is not 5 years ago, where overly relying on juco transfers to fill roster holes would be a risky and unsustainable strategy. This is the portal landscape, where all teams will have significant roster turnover every year, requiring coaches to scout and pursue a much broader pool of players, or else you’re not going to fill out your roster with the quality you need. Until the portal/transfer rules change, this is how you operate to succeed.
