I don’t know any of these kids. You can wonder all you want and keep telling yourself whatever you like.

I don’t think anyone said only poor, trashy kids have casual sex
This wasn’t casual sex
I seriously doubt that this girl would give those 4 the time of day if she were sober
This wasn’t a pretty girl going slumming, this was a young woman who had too much to drink & was violently taken advantage of then left on the side of the road

Why are you talking about casual sex, group sex, and hookups? This thread is about a victim who was inebriated way past the point of legal consent. The victim was raped and left on the side of the road, which caused her death. Are you trolling or stupid?

By all means, carry on and keep telling yourself only poor trashy college kids have causal sex, group sex, hook ups, etc.
None of that is what happened the night this girl got killed.
You can admit that this is what the conversation here is about, right?
Don’t turn it into something it isn’t. If the BRfrickinPD is telling you they raped her, stop everything else you’re thinking of and reassure yourself it’s not pertinent.
They raped her.

I know the law. I don’t have to tell myself anything. I have an education. Good luck to your son and daughters. They may need it.

People are naive as hell and don’t realize these kids have threesomes, girl on girl, random hook ups, etc.
None of this is remotely germane to what happened to this girl. You look like the world’s biggest a-hole.

I used to enjoy going. Karaoke night basically turned into a full on club. Lots of trash infiltrated it over time and it went downhill. They had a few shooting incidents/major fights in the parking lot area

One of the most disturbing things about this case is the lawyer’s comments. I don’t know what he was trying to accomplish, but wow.

I think it's coming across as victim blaming, as you are saying what the rapists are alleging of her is common behavior. Your experience and what your children were exposed to and their lifestyle does not seem typical from my experiences.
I hope one thing that comes from this is a renewed focus in protecting our kids, having these hard discussions about personal safety, responsibility, looking after friends, using the buddy system, respect, consent, drinking to excess, etc. The world we grew up in is not the same as the one our kids are.

This law looks a little messed up. Are threesomes and above outlawed? Unfortunately I don’t have to worry.
Never mind. Unfortunately threesomes and up not being outlawed also doesn’t benefit me.
It is oddly worded though. 65 or older part could be moved to a circumstance under section A like the under 13 one and “where” then changed to “when” like 2nd and 3rd degree rape are written. I doubt paragraph B would have to clarify “participate”.

My buddy who use to work sex crimes for BRPD says he thinks they should be charged with 1st Deg Rape. He sent me this.
42. First degree rape
A. First degree rape is a rape committed upon a person sixty-five years of age or older or where the anal, oral, or vaginal sexual intercourse is deemed to be without lawful consent of the victim because it is committed under any one or more of the following circumstances:
...
(5) When two or more offenders participated in the act.
Never mind. Unfortunately threesomes and up not being outlawed also doesn’t benefit me.

B. For purposes of Paragraph (A)(5) of this Section, "participate" shall mean:
(1) Commit the act of rape.
(2) Physically assist in the commission of such act.

I see three spin-off threads
1- promiscuity of hs and college aged girls
2- hammer the driver thread like we hammered the Brister kid
3- deep dive on the level of embedded LLCs it takes to allow Reggie’s to faux close and reopen within 24hrs as Regggies

There is promiscuity. Casual sex. We all know and acknowledge that happens.
However this is about a girl who legally could not consent to sex. She didn’t “ask for it”.

he warrant states she
1. Fell off her barstool in Reggies
2. Fell off a bench by the door of Reggies
3. Stumbled in the parking and grabbed door handle to a random car
4. couldn't tell them her address and fell over unresponsive in the car.
Those are facts known by all 4 defendants prior to 2 of them deciding to have sex with her.
It don't take a smart person to realize this woman was in no condition to get herself home safely much less consent to sex.
It would have been obvious to the security staff and detail cops too. The bouncers would have likely remembered a girl like that walking in with trash like that. If she walked out, drunk out her mind, with criminal arse guys that she didn't come in with, maybe on a moral level, one of the boucers could have been troubled to let the detail officer know (assuming they weren't already busy). Could have possibly saved a life. A few simple questions to her "friends" like what's her name, last name, where does she live, could have shown that those guys did not know her. Then if the cop would have run the guys, might have come back with some criminal history. And then maybe you slow things way down. I know Murphy Paul said BRPD are the goodest officers in the world, but maybe some additional training might be appropriate.

And you agree that it’s not ok to have sex with someone who can’t consent? Because if so, we are on the same page. And understand the law.

As a casual observer of this board feud, might I make an appeal for decency on a thread that is likely to be read by many who know the victim and her family. Just on this ONE thread maybe we could demonstrate a little less ego, be a little less attached to our egos, and try a little less hard to “ win” a thread. It’s just common decency. Also , knowing how the Universe gives back, I’d caution anybody from having too much hubris in general, especially when discussing our children. None of us, or them are immune from mistakes or tragedy.
PEACE .
PEACE .
