Everyone is telling you your itinerary is crazy because it is crazy. Its way too much moving around all over the place.

Yeah I did 21 days in Europe and did 3 cities and it felt like a whirlwind after it was all done. I can't even imagine moving cities every 3 days

What is this abomination

.... here, I'll fix this for him: 4 days in Amsterdam, 4 days in Munich, and 7 days in Barcelona, with a side trip to Ibiza.

I would at least skip Amsterdam and fly directly into Munich if the Euros and running of the bulls are the 2 main things you want to do.

Just did 11 days in Italy. Flew into Rome, drove to Tuscany, finished in Florence. Outstanding and already planning another trip.

We are going April 19 - May 2. 5 days in Paris, 3 days in Cannes, 4 days in Barcelona. You may have missed the boat airfare though - I found business class seats for 1400 each back in November. They are 2-4 times that now.

We’re going to try to squeeze in Italy but it made no sense too much travel time.

Appreciate the input from everyone. Still sorting through it but at least the flights somewhat have dropped from my area .

The arguments of not running around are totally valid though. I just need more PTO

And Covid shot requirements for Madrid/Spain in general?

Like I said, I have to be in Munich before Pamplona. It's impractical to go from Munich to Pamplona back to Barcelona and then Paris.

Rent a car in Paris and drive to Bayeux. Take an Overlord Tour of the D-Day Beaches one day. Drive to Mont St. Michel the next day. Relax in Bayeux the next day

This was my plan for Paris aside from the day in Bayeux but I'll look into that. A relax day would be nice. I have never driven in Europe, I guess it's pretty simple with Google Maps?

Trains are fun with kids...for 45 mins. Trains when not packed are nice because kids can get up and move. But trains with kids that are packed, suck. Just an fyi.

I get it, and I'm certainly not looking forward to the travel days but is it really any different than a road trip? We've taken many 6-10 hour road trips with little issue?

The difference is you are doing like 5-6 of those road trips on that trip in 2 weeks. There's nothing at all wrong with, well nothing fantastic but still, about any of those trips with one or two of them. But adding a bunch of them together like that in such a short time frame will get old.

An hour drive isn't bad. But commuting to work an hour each way gets old to most quickly.

Again, obviously it's not for everyone. The way I see it, taking out the flights to/from Europe because that's unavoidable, it's 4 trips over the course of 15-16 days and the two long ones (AMS-MUN and PAM-PAR) over a week apart. That's an acceptable number to me given my excitement level and the reason for making each one.

Italy is beautiful and has enough to see and do to keep you busy for two weeks.

Have you thought about the family travel? Maybe you like it but with kids it is a freaking nightmare waiting to happen.

Again, how is it different than going on a road trip which my kids have done successfully numerous times?

Look. If you don’t get what many posters are getting at about your insane itinerary I don’t know what else to tell you. I hope the trip goes as well as it can for you. This is no road-trip you’re going on.

You need to research this. We will be in Spain at that time so I looked into being in Pamplona for the running. Number 1, lodging is crazy expensive at that time. Number 2 is unless you have a balcony view you won't be able to see much, and a place with a balcony view is mega bucks.
