I would rather that Landry would actually do Attorney General stuff instead of showboating.

Yes, he challenged JBE and won in court, but that decision was handed down long after the damage had been done and LA had essentially reopened. He would have done better to challenge Latoya's almost dictatorial tyrannical mask mandates and vaxx card foolishness.

I would like to know what Landry or Schroder are going to do about real problems like the outdated tax structure, infrastructure and getting serious about insurance reform. But, I guess shilling for federal issues and culture war stuff gets you the press and distracts you from things that I mentioned that affect people every single day in going about their lives.

Yes, these are all issues. They are all issues to be tackled at the federal level. I want a leader of my state that doesn't grandstand on the federal level whilst fighting windmills like Landry.

As the Chief Legal officer of the state, the attorney general has the right to petition the state courts with cause to intercede in any criminal prosecution. Is there a greater cause than not enforcing the laws of the state.

Landry is Nero, and he's been fiddling for a national audience while our state gets worse.

Well thats interesting.

Red flags all up in this thread with the pro-Nelson group.

The fact that he does not go much onto Twitter is a plus in my book. Twitter is mind vomit.

I've been to the websites for Landry and Schroder. Landry is so general...." yada, yada, I have small town values and I'll fight for traditional values....I've been a cop, a business owner and I went to Loyola nightschool to be a lawyer.....taxes not good, they are bad....broadband" I could get behind rewriting the LA constitution but it so far is platitudes and a shopping link.

All Schroder seems to be is " donate money to me" and buy some shite from my campaign.

You can search bills that Schroder authored as a State Rep. Quite a bit of budget/spending reform and some civil service reforms. Maybe there’s an archive on the internet of his old State Rep campaign page where his views on some of the other issues are stated.

Landry…really don’t know in regards to the issues you asked about. Maybe as attorney general he’s chimed in on insurance reform?

He did run for State Senate ‘07, but don’t recall what he campaigned on, other than probably the Jindal “new day in Louisiana” wave that vast majority of new Republican candidates piggybacked on.

I just went down a rabbit hole of past Facebook posts. Appears Twitter just wasn't his preferred method. I found some interesting things, like this article from month one of lockdowns. Appears he was one of only three people to question them. Probably his lack of experience, though.

I also saw a mind boggling video about how our state doesn't put a burden of proof on a plaintiff when seeking damages from a defendant.
WTF did i just hear

Not saying he's got an extensive legislative resume, but it also doesn't appear that he hasn't been leading the horse to water.

I didn't pay much attention to him around then, but I did see what was done to his reading legislation last session, and we're getting boatraced by Mississippi in childhood reading because they passed the law and we haven't. MISSISSIPPI!!!

Those freakin idiots trying to torch him because he didn’t practice. There wasn’t anything involving his bill that would require legal practice experience to understand.
Good work by him there handling that bullshite.

I supposed you learn to keep your cool as a diplomat.

It's kinda great when that same guy says "your one sentence bill could have tremendous ramifications for our legal profession." Yes, and I hope so.

Also like it when the woman says "Do you even know if this will save on insurance?" and he says, "Well, we have the worst insurance in the country and we're only one of two states with this provision." Until our policy is closer in line with better states, who's to know what works. All we know is that our's doesn't.

That video should make ever citizen of this state's blood boil. The amount of BS spewed by the legislators toward Nelson is unbelievable. Makes you want to clean house.

Nelson is a Moderate Dem with (R) behind his name. No thanks. I watched his performance agreeing with Denise Marcelle on a police bill and it was nauseating.

I don’t have any reason to believe that, but that’s kinda the reason for my position that I’d like to see more of a record by him to base it on before supporting him for the highest elected office in the state at a crucial point in time. It’s kinda weird to me that my position draws such fire from his supporters here. “Derr derr you want the same old thing!!”

I think people see your position, and frustratedly think you're saying it's "someone else's turn simply because they've waited longer." This may not be your position, but it might be how someone would read that opinion.

That thought seems an illogical thought from my perspective. My perspective being someone willing to vote about solutions, not about problems. This dude seems really prepared to start work.

Agreed he is definitely a moderate. When asked in that radio show/podcast who his role model politician was, he answered George Washington. When asked again if he had a modern role model in mind, he stated he did not know. He clearly is not a Republican of the Trump mold.

He worked for the State Department, which means he is probably a part of the deep state.
