Would be a great game to win. Kentucky is currently a 10 pt favorite.
I like the Tigers in this one based of my little knowledge of our basketball team (have watched two games).
In front of national audience. Tigers will/should be ranked after a win and would be a 2-0 start of SEC play. This team plays good basketball much different the. How last years team played and won from what little I have seen. We have some very athletic players. Let’s Geaux tigers!!

UK has been playing like shite recently. Lost to Mizzou in COMO. Beat the stuffing out of a pretty bad Louisville team last game. Cal just cant find a consistent starting 5

This is just in an effort to avoid confusion but the game us at 8:00 eastern 7:00 pm central time.

Usually weekday conference games are either at 6 or 8 but this one is at 7.

10+ pts is way too much. Take the points and sprinkle some on the ML

McMahon is an infinitely better in game coach compared to Cal

10 seems like too much

LSU is ranked 26th. New polls came out during the football game but it would have been hard to break that news on the Score Board during a football game.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to think this.

LSU hasn't exactly been blowing the doors off of teams either. They've only covered the spread twice in their last 8 games (vs. Wake Forest and Arkansas). Many of those games were against relatively weak teams...at home. LSU's offense has been inconsistent (at best) all season.

Can LSU win tonight? Sure. This doesn't look like one of Cal's Final Four teams (at least not as of yet). But this will be LSU's first true road game of the season, against a team that, while maybe not looking like a top 5 team this season, is still plenty talented. That's a tough spot to get a win.

I'll pull like hell for LSU. But I'm not expecting a win in this one.

When is this narrative going to stop? This years team is ranked lower on KenPom than any of Will Wade’s team. Last years team finished 21st and currently at 75th.

Looking at the game, I would expect us to play Kentucky similar to Arkansas. Kentucky has struggled to shoot the ball and are without their top shooter CJ Fredrick. I wouldn’t be surprised to see McMahon come out in zone but the only worry with that is keeping Tshiebwe off the glass

When OP has watched more than 2 games.

Surprised he didn’t throw in a streetball reference for good measure.

Here is Kentucky Sports Radio's breakdown of the Tigers. KSR does a good job scouting opponents. I think a few Tiger fans might appreciate the how challenging LSU is to play, from an opponent's perspective.

Not really a fair comparison. McMahon had to rebuild the entire roster and he is getting the most out of them so far.

This is an equally dumb narrative. Yes, McMahon had to rebuild the roster. But he did it...in two months. It's not like he has been forced to take a team of JUCO transfers and low rated true freshmen into the season while he tries to "rebuild" the program.

Last year's team had 9 players average over 10 mpg. 4 were true freshmen (Murray, Reid, Fudge, Williams). The others were two first year transfers (Pinson and Eason) along with a senior, Days, and two returning sophomores, Wilkinson and Gaines.

Last year's team was more athletic than this year's group. No question. However, two of last year's players are on this year's roster (Wilkinson and Williams). A third is the guy who was expected to be the starting SG (Miller). McMahon brought three experienced uperclassmen from Murray St. (KJ, Hannibal and Hill), with one being the conference player of the year. He also added two top 70 recruits (Ward and Reed). This isn't a bad roster. Maybe not top 1/3rd in the SEC...but by no means bad, which is why LSU was picked to finish 8th in a strong SEC.

The poster is right. LSU's KenPom rating is not good. And it's not just teams like Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky who are ahead of LSU. It's also teams like Missouri, Mississippi St., Florida, (all with first year HCs and "rebuilt" rosters) as well as Ole Miss. Now, that doesn't mean this LSU team can't significantly improve that rating as the season goes on, nor does it mean they can't compete for an NCAA Tournament spot.

People who are just now starting to pay attention to basketball are judging this team based upon what the roster looked like on April 10 (which was essentially no players). Since that time McMahon did a tremendous job of putting together what should be a competitive roster. But, with that good work in the transfer portal and on the recruiting trail should come increased expectations. Not expectations that this team should win a tough SEC or that they should be a NCAAT "lock". But FAR better than "well, I'll be happy if they win a few SEC games because the new coach started behind the 8 ball".

Hunt just said tigers are 6-46 all time in Rupp That’s pretty crazy. Kentucky has to feel backed into a corner after losing to mizzou and only having 1 good win on the year. Going to be a tough one tonight

Wade is gone and isn’t coming back. We are lucky to have a coach that will actually get the most out of our players.
