Watching professional sports and the athletes look like kids.

When I was a kid and a young man all professional athletes looked like grown arse men, now that I’m middle aged I see kids. Watching any professional sport(especially baseball) is a constant reminder that my youth is gone.

When you hit 40, you notice you are slower at most things.

At 50 …things regarding your health need more attention/ concern (weight, diet, blood pressure, exercise). You’d kids are growing older and life gets more complex.

At 60…things start going downhill. Your hearing, reaction time, your metabolism slows, your waist size may stay the same but belly starts extending out, your prostate has likely enlarged and it slows your peeing, you don’t eat as much but you seem to keep go
gaining weight, viagra is your friend.

Now, in my seventies…. osteoarthritis kicks in and you ache all over, can’t get a good night’s sleep because of peeing,
People seem to become more annoying, wear hearing aids, turn captions on the tv, viagra dose increases to get decent wood, working in the yard takes much more time to finish, skin cancers start appearing and require trips to dermatologist and sometimes surgery. I do enjoy my kids and grandkids, and my precious wife. I’m thankful for each day I’m on this side of the dirt.

As Paul Newman once said….
“ Getting old ain’t for wimps”.
