Unsalvageable unless we get rid of politicians who are only in it for themselves.

So basically we’re toast.

The erosion of personal freedom makes me sad. The fact that it appears the majority of the populace want to live in some version of a nanny state is also disappointing.

After Biden attempted to force vaccination on everyone or be faced with losing your job, I made the decision that I’ll never pledge allegiance, respect the anthem, or fly an American flag again. This country is not an America I would risk my life for.

A country that has an evil, corrupt government. A government that I would not shed a drop of blood for nor would send my sons. A country that has turned it's back on God, while losing it's morality. A country that has forsaken it's founding principles.

I look at where we are and a lot of the problems I see as major ones, and wonder how we fix those issues. Things like hyper-partisanship, the amount of money in political campaigns, the lack of strong leaders in Congress, etc. then I look at our history and see we’ve made it through mic worse as a country.

The Supreme Court case heard yesterday is really concerning, and while republicans mostly seem to support it, the Democratic Party could also use it to their advantage and further divide the country.

It's obvious this country won't stay together. At some point states will band together to leave the union. If the gov creates another war because of it is the end.

The pinnacle of this empire is behind us. We are in the steep downhill slide and eventually its end.
So sad.

It's a dire outlook. The US and Its Citizens Are Collectively $66 Trillion in Debt.
https://nypost.com/2022/12/04/americas-ticking-time-bomb-66-trillion-in-debt-that-could-crash-the-economy/

It is very difficult for most people - especially Americans - to understand the level of danger to the current monetary system today. US and Global DEBT is exploding, … prior to both assets and debt imploding.

Debt exploding … leading to the currency becoming worthless, has happened in history for as long as there has been some form of money ….. 3rd century Rome …. 18th century France …. 20th century Weimar Republic …. and many more.

von Mises said, “There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion.”

He’s right, you know. With zero ability to repay the surging Debt cycle, it leads the US to one of three consequences:

1. The US Dollar value goes to zero
2. A US default
3. or Both (this is the most likely outcome)

Some believe the US can never default, which of course is nonsense. Printing money to pay for previous sins has never worked and never will …. and this is how money dies, just like it has always died throughout history. People that think this is still a long way off may be fooling themselves. The current debasement of the Dollar has occurred primarily since 1971, when Nixon decoupled the Dollar from its backing.

Global currencies are already down 97%-99% since 1971 …. and we should now expect the final 1%-3% decline for all fiat currencies to become virtually worthless. History has proven that the final collapse in fiat currencies always happens the quickest, …. so it could easily happen in the next 2-5 years.

Since 1971 US Debt has risen 53X … while GDP has risen only 22X. This is the crux of the problem, right here. Globally, there is $2.3 quadrillion in Liabilities, much of it as Derivatives and Unfunded Liabilities, …… all of which is supported by a measly $2 trillion in central bank gold. (0.1%)

There are some that predict that central bank gold may be revalued 200X in a last ditch effort to invert the liabilities, so that gold makes up as much as 20%-ish of the ratio instead of 0.1%. This would require that assets in general be devalued against the price of gold worldwide.

I’m not sure I believe that a lasting “reset” with a new currency system (digital) - backed by revalued central bank gold – can occur. I just cannot see the 3 largest holders of gold reserves (China, Russia, India) agreeing with the United States on a revaluation. It is also highly questionable whether the US has anywhere near the 8,000 tonnes of gold bullion it claims.

I sincerely hope that these predictions will never take place, … but I am not naïve enough to believe they won’t. The risk of a major financial catastrophe has never been higher in history than it is right now. And if that occurs (likely), the results are almost too dire to fathom ..... I pray for my grandchildren.

Physical gold and silver won’t save us, but it has proven throughout history to be the best financial insurance you can physically possess. More important is a healthy degree of Faith, a support network of family and friends, and a place to access clean water and grow some of your own food.

Can't trust our elections. Very little trust our elected officials. Rampant corruption. Out of control spending and massive debt. Too much government overreach. Majority of the population has no idea how government works and doesn't care as long as they get their government handout.

The America our forefathers created is circling the drain.

That America died when Lincoln held a gun to the south's head and forced them back into the union. The prevailing thought at the time (by both northern and southerners) was that the south had the right to secede. Lincoln truly is the beginning of the end of of the republic as he was very successful at implementing the central government we know and loathe today.

People should really read up on the whole topic. What we are tought in school is complete horseshite.

America is voting out or not electing the preferred candidates of the miserable so they in turn hate America.

Hard times ahead. Some can see some things about our future while most only scoff. Once reality hits for the scoffers, they won't have any ability to be introspective - they will only look to blame others for the state they find themselves in.

This isn't a thread for just one political party. Let's get as many viewpoints as we can. I would like to see how this turns out and if we agree on many things, a few things or no things.

What does the country need to improve on.

What are we excelling at?

Where do we go from here?

There is about a million things we need to improve on. The biggest ones to me are spending, getting involved with fights all around the world, government corruption, and far too high immigration.

We excel at national parks, making firearms and innovation in fields like aviation, medical and other technologies.

The US is a declining empire. Our leaders take actions that weaken instead of strengthen us. Eventually there will be more people in the US loyal to other things that want to see the demise of the US like Islam, Communism, Socialism, and Latin American countries. I think it's too late to prevent the destruction.

It’s a shithole considering what it was when I served. If there’s a conservative country at the same latitude or climate, I will retire there. Unfortunately, with globalism everything is being homogenized into a giant shite sandwich. Until then, I will batten down the hatches and fight for 1A & 2A to protect my little world. The mantra of you will own nothing and like it is treasonous. That’s how I feel about the current state of the country.
