I agree with you to a certain extent, so let me add that I think Jayden needs to do a better job of making pre-snap reads. Arkansas SHOWED blitz all day and JD was still thinking he could go through 5 progressions and wait for someone to get open. It's almost like he reverted back to his old ways for a game. Either way, he needs to be prepared to make a quick decision but having an open RB would have helped him a lot.

Well when every WR is running deep routes (15+ yds) when the defense is blitzing, that's not really on the QB.

Meh. Could be. That's what pre-snap adjustments/communication is about.

Team had the flu. Tough Arkansas team with nothing to lose. Glean what lessons you can from the game and move on.

True, but in his defense, the OC did have the LSU offense on fire, he just needs to decide quicker when a strategy needs to change. And don’t be stubborn, take advantage of what the defense is giving you.

Thats exactly the point when Les Miles lost what little creditability he had left when me. Probably one of the dumbest things i ever heard a coach say and he wasn't joking.

100% agree. This wasn't all on the OC or the QB, probably a little bit of both.

How come Kelly did not have them make in game adjustments?

Let me start with I'm not saying the adjustments were sufficient, but in the second half, we ran right at them with Williams/Cain against that front much more and had some success.

We never challenged the flats. Late in the game JD5 had opportunity to run but he chose to hand it off. I still don’t understand why we didn’t use the flat area with Mason Taylor or another pass catcher.

Everyone likes to talk about Les's BBQ buddies, but Denbrock is that for Kelly. They were together at Grand Valley St for several years. Kelly then brought him to Notre Dame. Denbock was the OC for ONE season, before being taken out of that role. He then eventually went to Cincinnati where his offenses were "ok" for the AAC, but not particularly great by any means. It's as if Kelly said "Well, he score 24 on us at ND so maybe he is better."

Daniels has had his own issues, but LSU's passing game is incredibly predictable. Rarely does the scheme bust a coverage wide open. In most cases the passes are outside the hashes with Daniels having to throw into a tight window and the WR's having to fight for the ball. Nothing is thrown between the hashes. And while a young OL and hesitant QB doesn't help, that alone doesn't account for nearly 40 sacks! LSU is almost DEAD LAST in the nation in sacks allowed.

The reality is the biggest plays on offense have largely been Daniels improvising and breaking off big runs. Arkansas did a good job of containing Daniels and we got a VERY clear picture of how weak the offense looks when Daniels can't get loose. The entire scheme and approach was completely helpless to do anything without those runs. Even against Alabama defensive penalties were as big a contributor to the offensive "success". LSU scored 3 times in the second half of that game. ALL three drives had Alabama penalties playing a big role in the drive. Two of the drives were extend by Alabama penalties on failed 3rd downs.

This has been a great season. Overall, Kelly has done an excellent job and exceeded all reasonable expectations. But the offensive approach has been very average but for Daniels being able to rip off timely big runs. There wasn't a ton of excitement on here when Denbrock was named OC. There was a reason.

Denbrock is the other glaring weakness on this staff outside of special teams.

Is his recruiting the element that keeps him around?

During the Alabama/clemson NC game, miles was in the Coaches show or whatever it’s called. He was asked, “Les, you played alabana more than anybody, what weaknesses or scheme did you staff try?” Miles responded with, “We identified their strength and our plan was to attack that strength”. All the coaches on the show were speechless.

I cannot stand when basic analytical bitches blame those sacks on the OL.

LSU better get used to rush 4 drop 6 and a spy on JD. Way to be that is quick routes but WR have to create separation off the line.

Does not compute.
The ball isn't in the air 3 sec. A fast WR runs a 4 sec 40 in sneakers, shorts and tee, so how far would he get in one sec running in cleats, pads and helmet, not to mention a possible DB check at LOS?

Our biggest fear is JD5 being frozen in the pocket eating the ball.

Hindsight is 20/20 but it's a lot of the same with JD. He's an elite runner but doesn't always make the right read. He throws a very catchable ball and is capable of making every throw. What he seems to lack is anticipation. A lot of his receivers covered down field are coming out of breaks open and he's not anticipating that and letting it fly. That's where a lot of his premature tuck and run / sacks are coming from. Not sure how you teach that or if it's just a feel but the great ones are great at it.

We could have gone empty backfield and had Mason Taylor being covered by a linebacker or everyone in man with NO double team/over the top safety on Boutte... Somebody is wide open in that. As I posted earlier...There were times when Arky would have no one on Taylor because they left the safety over the two wides...

Everyone could have been on their death beds with the flu/funk and that does not mean you don't recognize and call this in
