Sick of the "Bama Bump" and "LSU Drop"

Jalen Brown from Miami committed 7/8 as a 5 star. Within a month dropped to 4 star. Without playing a game. Shelton Sampson has been a 5 star for 2 years. Committed 8/6 dropped to 4 star. Zalance Heard was a 5 star. Committed 9/1 dropped to 4 star. Another example is Trey Holley .all time leading rusher in Louisiana history. Some have him a 3 star. Alabama signs 4 stars and they go to 5 stars.

So what? Why does a recruiting ranking really matter? The players are the players and the star that some chubby dude assigns them won’t make them better or worse. I care about the college playoff ranking.

If you review our 2019, 2020 and 2021 recruiting classes and see how the players fared at LSU, you’d see the rankings are hit and miss.

I get it and it is ridiculous but finish with a top 5 class and there isn't enough of a difference to worry about if you have the right coaching in place.

Some of those guys were fives for a certain service but not composite. Jalen brown heard and Sampson weren’t composite 5s when we signed them. Ask captain crown. He keeps up with it more than I do but i know for a fact that some of those guys went up after signing with us
