quote:

1. Sav for Aleah on vault (Sav is more consistently able to find that landing than Aleah is)

You're right. Only thing with Sav is bent knees in the air, but if we're talking sticks, yes. Omelianchiks are no joke to stick lol

quote:

2. Cowan on bars is cleaner than Tatum in my opinion

I agree. But Tatum is just so consistent. If they manage to clean her Ray, she could score very high. Her low bar pirouette is the best on the team imo.

quote:

3. Bryce over Kai on beam (due to Kai’s history of injuries)

You are right again lol somehow I forgot Bryce has a great beam set (that front aerial is fire)

quote:

4. Sierra over Jill on floor (for the same reason as Bryce over Kai on beam) and Sierra’s tumbling is cleaner in my opinion

Oh, I think Jillian has a little bit better form on the layouts (I think I just really like this routine of hers link). Although Sierra really has that star quality no one else does. It's gonna be though to decide the final 6 on floor haha

A couple of things - I think we should not have any fulls in the lineup, at all. This is the time where we have the strength and likely the consistency to do it - so this is where we push it. As another poster mentioned - fulls always get hit harder than 10.0 starts in post - season. I don’t like it, but it is what it is. I agree that although Aleah’s has a beautiful vault, we need to prioritize those who can find the landing better/easier. It’s just a hard one to stick.

For bars, I don’t know about coen’s viability given her injury status and lack of competing the last couple of years. And given that, I don’t know if Jay gives her a chance. But we’ll see. In general though, I think the best case lineup, absent Coen, includes both Tatum and Cowan. I also love Aleah’s bars, but they have got to find something better for her dismount - I know it’s not exactly the same, but maybe she could try a half out version akin to the change Haleigh did?

For beam, I think there is very little chance we would or should see Kai. I think the leadership she provides to the team is invaluable - but I think with injuries and her lack of consistency that is probably a routine that will also go. I see that lineup being Savannah, Jeffrey, KJ/Bryce/Beard, Haleigh, kiya, Aleah. I hope we see KJ’s beam again - that routine was dynamic and she was just starting to hit her stride with it when she got injured.

Floor - I am pretty in sync with everyone else’s thoughts, though I do think we should keep Ballard as the leadoff. Also, that is probably the place we should keep Alyona because she tends to Score very well. And hopefully by post season we would use Aleah, Haleigh, and Kiya as our back three.

No way Aleah will be taken out of vault. That was her first season competing vault. She will be fine with more experience.

It’s not about whether Aleah will be “fine” when competing vault. Her vault is very very good, but it’s about how consistent sticking is (which as much as we all hate it is the most important thing when it comes to vault). If there are others that are more consistent in that aspect - that’s who they should go with, especially in a year where we have a bevy of vaults to choose from.

No, you're right. It's the Omelianchik issue specifically. MaKenna Smith from Utah has a very pretty one too, but she rarely breaks 9.9. In addition to the blind landing, there's more momentum going forward on the pike front than on the 1.5 twist, so it's pretty hard to control it.

We all know how beautifully Aleah can hit that, she scored a 10! But only the season will tell if it's consistent enough to leave out one of the many 1.5s we got.

As for Coen, I really don't know what her status is right now, but she is an outstanding gymnast overall. I hope they insert her somewhere her first year if she's healthy and I hope it's on bars!

Agreed but her 10 value was consistent. It’s gonna be a battle but based off her work load, regardless of landing, I don’t think she will be out of the lineup. I think Brock is a lock but her consistency is off and on. I think we will see Jillian more than Sav on this specific event. And they may ease Kiya in. What about KJ and her foot. A lot of question marks but I still don’t think Aleah will be taken out. She along with Haleigh were the stars of the team. The biggest issue for Aleah are those bar and beam dismounts. Those are the main struggles for her .

Garrett Griffith posted on Twitter that a month from today the Class of 2025 recruitment is on. Does anyone know who LSU is recruiting for 2025?

Based off various social media likes in the last several months there’s a lot. Nina Ballou, Charlotte Booth, Jocelyn Sasson, Kelise Woolford, Sophia Diaz, Mackenzie Estep, Avalon Campbell, Elyse Wenner, Brynn Torry, Kamila Pawlak and a few others. I could see most of these going on an official visit.

I’d love to see Tiana Sumanasekera go to LSU but I’m not getting SEC vibes from her. Haley Mustari is also such a star but I’m guessing she’s on her way to Oklahoma.

Aleah posted a TikTok where she brought a baseball player in to try some gymnastics. Sorry, I don’t have the link.

It is cute but in it she says she can’t demonstrate a flyaway so she has someone else do a simple back tuck off the high bar. Is she limited on bars right now to rest her shoulder or does she have some kind of mental block with flipping backwards off of bars?

I heard LSU is in a really good spot to land Nina Ballou. Couple of those other gymnasts you mentioned, we are in favorable positioning as well, I’ll be interested to see how it all shakes out. Lot of very high quality level 10 gymnasts for this 25 class.

Sumanasekera, lot of chatter is she will end up on the west coast (Cal, UCLA, or Utah). Florida is the only non west coast school I’ve heard she has some interest in but I’ll be shocked if it’s not one of those first 3 I mentioned but you never know

I would love to see Nina Ballou come to LSU. Since she is from Florida and showing an interest in being a Tiger there is hope. Have you heard of any Elites that LSU is hoping to get?

Major interest in LSU but she is 2026

Hezley also is 2026. is interested in LSU but I heard she is looking at a few other SEC schools (esp Florida) and OU. Originally from NJ I believe but she seems pretty open.

Booth is a 2025 I really want but it’ll be tough to lure her out of Florida but she has expressed interest in visiting lsu this fall

Anyone know for sure how many scholarships they’ll have for this group (‘25s)? It looks like just 3 right?

Sage announced she’s going to Oregon St. I think she would have come here but she felt like there was no room. Shame because she has 2 years left and she would have been great addition.

It always seemed like she wanted to go to a place where she would have more opportunities to compete than at Utah. I think Oregon State probably is that place, especially if Jade doesn’t always do AA as she is preparing for Paris. LSU is probably not that place, especially next year.
